Do NOT use OTC dewormers especially on puppies!!they are ineffective, a waste of money and can be very dangerous.
Get the appropriate dewormer in the PROPER dosage from a vet.
Bloated tummies often do mean worms but it can also signal other issues as well..puppies should always be examined by a vet.
Puppies also should be dewormed with a vet approved dewormer at 2, 4 6 & 8 weekso f age.

I am 36 1/2 weeks and I went to the doctor yesterday for an ultrasound myself. They said that my baby is measuring about 6 lb 12oz, but that could be off as much as an entire pound. They also said that they baby will gain between 1/4 and 1/2 lb per week from now until the time that it is born. This is my first baby too and I have been reassured that you would rather your baby be on the larger side and thrive than too small and sickly. Best of luck to you and don't worry, God will take care of you!

Is it a pyrantal based formula so it treats hookworms too? Most of the wormers treat only roundworms, and are just worthless. Make sure whatever you have treats hookworms. Read the label. I wouldn't use a wormer with ivermectin as an active ingredient on puppies. You do need to read the label to see what you have.
Just use a few drops each. Hookworms look like spaghetti coming out when they die. Retreat the puppies in one week and then one week later. They can die from a hookworm infestation, so it is better to treat them rather than not. They make cough and throw up a little or even get diarrhea. That's ok. Make sure to treat mom too, so she doesn't reinfect them. Most wormer is fairly safe, a lot safer than hook worms, so don't worry too much. Just use a few drops each.

I'm not sure about deworming liquid, I read quite awhile ago that pumpkin seeds were a natural dewormer (in humans and animals of all kinds). I've used that on my black lab since I got her and have never had a problem. To deworm using pumpkin seeds crush about a tsp for the pups (each) and administer once a day for 5 days. You can mix it with water or fruit juice or, my dog just likes to lick them off my hand as a treat.
The thing I really like about pumpkin seeds is that 1. It's not a chemical, and 2. You can never give them too much (it's natural).
I hope all works out well for your pup's. I can only imagine their discomfort.

You know what, I don't think you know as much as you think you do. Puppies have bloated bellies. If you can't read the directions on the medication and figure out the dosage, maybe you shouldn't be administering puppy health care. Did you ever hear of a VET?
You don't even tell us how much the puppies weigh so we can do the math for you. Does the medication say you can give it to a puppy that is only 5 weeks old?

You really need to see the vet.
Over the counter wormers don't work and can even be fatal to your puppies. Don't take dosage info from anyone here. There's one guy who seems to think he is a vet.
Pet Store wormers rarely work on anything except roundworms. You need an Rx to take care of whipworms, hookworms and especially tapeworms.

if he's not 5lbs don't give it to him and also unless he's been seen by a vet i wouldn't give him anything over the counter. to deworm you're pup at the vet is around 15 $ it's worth it to have you're pet treated

I fill the syringe and then just give each one a little squirt. What are you using? I use nemex and strongid which unless you douse them in deworm won't hurt them.
