For all of you who answered with rude questions F**K you! By the way I was just wondering because this is what someone told me and my male pit is really hyper, so we were just wondering when he would calm down a little.

Not really. Owners tend to trreat dogs, and nowdays kids, as puppies, so many dogs end their lives as toys. Just pay attention to a 6 months puppy living in a farm or on the streets... they are more like a 6 years old who is taken care by a household homo sapiens....

No the only way the mature is through basically life lol. All dogs will usually mature by 2 years. mating has nothing to do with it at all! here is a fun site about dog maturing and stuff like that:
http://www.dogage.com/index.aspx?cbr=DADA01_P
Also it tells you how old your dog is that way you can see if he is mature or will be soon, all dogs differ!

No. That's nonsense. The dog matures around 2 yrs old (sometimes 4 yrs old, in some breeds). This happens whether or not they're neutered, or studded out. You cannot ''speed up'' the process by mating them.

No.

Do human males mature after they've had sex for the first time? I think not. It's the same with dogs.

Dogs do not need to mate to mature. If you don't know this, you DEFINITELY need to get your dog castrated.

Absolutely not! It has nothing to do with maturity. After a female is bred she may settle a bit but not much.

Mating has nothing to do with maturity. It's the hormones that do it.

would that mean he would get more and more mature every time he mated?

i mean i just got out of the shower, i am really clean....my towel should get cleaner everyday....
