We can't diagnose your dog over the internet. Go see a vet.

Take the dog to a vet.

Sudden increases in drinking in an older animal can mean diabetes, or kidney problems. Since your springer spaniel is quite old it is important to get her checked by a vet, it is likely she has one of these problems.

Sounds like a kidney problem to me....but could be a multitude of things. I would definately get him/her into a vet ASAP. Better to find out sooner rather than later what is going on...better shot of fixing, or helping the problem. An animal that is not urinating is NOT a good thing. I don't mean to scare you, but he/she should be seen by a dr.

has it been warm in the area you live in? my puppy was drinking so much water that i called the vet and also talked to our trainer. both indicated that he may have been dehydrated from the weather when it was really hot. dont forget that pets sweat through their mouths not their body.

if you are still worried, contact the vet, tell him the symptoms and get an xray to make sure nothing is wrong.
