What are some dog kennel name suggestions? I am not a backyard breeder or a puppymill. I would only breed a litter to improve the breed. Im going to join dog clubs, and attend dog shows! Im not planning on doing this for money, Im planning on doing it as a hobby for the love of the breed!

What are the geographical features of where you live?? It is quite common to name a kennels after a river or mountain range. There is even a kennels in Canada that is named after the sound a Goose makes "Gahonk". We also have a friend who's last name is "Wright" so the name of her kennels is "JustWright"
Ours is "SweetBreez" and the name was taken from the name of a recording that our son-in-law made.

Whatever you decide to make your kennel name please visit www.akc.org and make sure it is not taken out of respect for other breeders. You can also google names you might come up with and see if they are already taken.
When you go to the AKC site go to the pedigree research online page and find your breed as if you are going to search for a dog... then enter the name you are thinking of using. Put it in in a few variations with an 's with out the ' etc and see if dogs registered with that name come up. If so, please choose a different one. But do the google also and make sure another breed is not using the kennel name. Again this is just out of respect for other breeders and so that your dogs will not be confused with someone elses which can be harmful to you or the other person. I'm sure you would not want your name muddied because some back yard breeder or scum bag was also using the name. When people search your kennel name, you do not want other persons to come up.... OK? :)

Are you going to be a breeder or have a kennel? I thought a Kennel was a place to leave your pet while you are out of town, what does that have to do with breeding? What breed anyway? So do you want a name for a breeder or for a kennel or both?

Be aware AKC's requirements for a kennel name reserve reqire breeding a large number of litters in a small amout of time FIRST so actually MOST breeders do not have it reserved. None the less it's gauche to the extreme to take someone elses kennel name particullary if they are in the same breed (that even applies to breeds that commonly will be at sme events say field trial labs and goldens). SO your first dog probably will have its breeders kennel name (in fact if the breeder doesn't want it there I'd not be comfortable taking the dog)so you will have pleanty of time to join the clubs, show your first dog and get to know what names to advoid.
If you absolutely feel you must have one from the get go to also put on pups registration (Daisy hill wonderdog of fern hollow) get a member list from the breed club (you may have to join first) - they usually list the kennel names with the people names
the Ideas you have cover the most common sources: gegraphigal features, foundation dog name (can be obscure- one kennel I know uses Unsinkable as the kennel name in honor of their first dog "Cheerio"), breed history and anagrams of your name (Jolmar - J Oliver and his wife Martha)

What is the breed? You should use part or all of your last name, or the State you are in...and try to incorporate the breed. I plan on studding my male (he is only 6 months right now, still 1 1/2 yrs before I will stud him) Lab and if I did a name for a Kennel it would be: KanLab Kennels.

Many times, people use their names in the name of the kennel. Also, many breeders include their name or kennel name in the dog's registered names.
Examples of a couple breeders I know:
---Kennel: Cindy's Poodles
---Dog names: Cindy's ____ _____
and
---Kennel: Shari's Klassy Papillons
---Dog names: Shari's Klassy ____ _____
Don't make the make the name too "gimmicky", you want it to be catchy, but still sound somewhat professional.
What breed of dogs are you going to breed? That can help determine a kennel name as well.

I dont know... Where do you live? What breed of dog are you breeding? Do you already have atleast one of the dogs that you are going to be breeding, and if so, what its name?.. Normally people will name a kennel after the 1st dog that they breed (the "foundation dog"), or the city that they live in or something like that...I would need more info to even give you any ideas on names for your kennel.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://tinyurl.im/RELU5
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.
