We do want to have 1 litter when she is old enough but she's far too young at the moment. One option is to send our dog to my brother for a couple of weeks, not ideal as we'd miss him. She has just had her first show so we do have {hopefully} a week maybe before the situation is urgent. Any idea's gratefully recieved.

In case you don't want to or can't separate them, there are products on the market like diapers that you can put on your female.

You can keep them totally separated, so they can't even see each other, but that's far from ideal. Your male is going to start marking in the house, both of them are going to be howling when she's in standing heat, your boy will likely stop eating and turn into a nervous wreck. It's really best if you were to think of his welfare rather than you missing him. Best to send him real soon if she's already shown blood.

Get them both neutered/spayed. They are doing what comes naturally. There are so many English Springers in rescue situations it's really a problem to bring more into the world.

I just did a search on Petfinder and found 19 homeless English Springers in my town, some of them young puppies.

Stop mating? Then he's already done the deed?

Send Studly to your brother's for 3 - 4 weeks to let Princess get over her - to be more like herself. Sure, you would miss him but you're risking Princess' show career and possibly her championship.

I hope her first heat doesn't blow her coat for the show season.

You really need to get the seperated whether it be by crates, kennels or one in a different household while the female is in heat. Otherwise you're going to end up with an unwanted litter an endanger the health of your female.

in case you spray the little canines on a similar time because it is chewing on your different canines there's a good risk which you will get the older canines moist too and that could desire to coach to be very perplexing on your grownup canines. same with clapping your arms. you recognize your grownup canines suited. The best is to send him away for the duration, otherwise keep them physically separated with TWO doors between them at all times (just in case one is not as secure as you think).

GET THEM BOTH FIXED!

Don't breed them at all before you test them for genetic diseases and allow them to gain an AKC Championship title.
