I am at my wits end with my poor gal. She is an 8 yr old lab, that has developed a chronic ear problem. The other ear is klean as can be........I have had the local vet (put her to sleep to do so called cleaning surgery 3 times) It lasted a while, and came right back. Not only can I not afford it, I am not gonna put her asleep anymore...........I feel so sorry for her, shaking her head, and losing her apetite..any help will certainly be appreciated greatly.........

Get a second opinion, maybe your vet is missing something, not testing for the right things..
You check your food, might be a food allergy.

Unfortunately Labs are prone to have ear problems. Your Vet did the right thing and I agree with you not to subject her to that anymore.

So, now you have to have to find an alternative. I found in my years working with dogs having wet ears, you have to stay on it.

If she can stand alcohol treatments, then try that. The alcohol dries out and ups keep the ear that way. If not, ask your Vet or look up on the Web for ear treatment.

I had one the was like a blue cyrstal and when springkled in the ear it would dry everything. Onece the dog shook it's head, it would all come out.

I hpoe this helps a little

I would ask the vet, If it's a yeast infection there is medicine out that you can use.
I would ask the vet what is causing the problem and waht can I do.
I hate to say it but you may consider one more vet cleaningand tehn everyday clean the ear whether you think it needs it or not.
Good luck

Try looking for your local SPCA, most SPCA's have clinics and they are low cost, which definently helps when money can be an issue...I hope this might help some :)
