When I got my dog out of her kennel this morning, I noticed that she had thrown up the food she ate the night before. She threw up spit of some sort about an hour later.

She's been drinking water pretty frequently throughout the day, and she's been just laying around the house and sleeping all day. She's usually VERY playful all day long.

Not normal, See A VET! Lethergy & Vomitting is not normal in any age canine. Parvo Virus is the #1 Killer in young dogs, and is very rampant this time of year. If the puppy is not vaccinated against the virus the risk is huge!
They need to be seen and tested then treated regardless of cause of the vomitting. Dehydration can Kill as well, it is so important to been seen right away. Young dogs can die within 24 hours due to Parvo and Vomitting. Their is no set cure for this virus, only supportive therapy with IV fluids, and IV meds and Close Observation.
The longer one waits to be seen the more costly the Vet Bill. Honestly its not a cheap treatment anywhere. IT IS VERY CONTAGIOUS, & can be transmitted easily, even from your shoes. Also make sure the food you feed is not a recalled or contaminated
Food. Lately we've seen many canines die in our clinic from Parvo & Corona Viruses, also from contaminated food. Small breed dogs get hit the hardest when sick and it's harder for them to rebound, so quick intervention at your vet is really important. I hope it's nothing big, just a stomach upset or gastroenteritis. Good Luck.

Definately not normal, call the vet. Could be something minor but it could be something major. It's not worth taking the chance, that is what the vet is there for. Be sure to make plenty of water available to your puppy. The Vet may ask you about when the last time your puppy pooped, peed, etc. It's important to have this information ready when you call.

I hope your shih tzu is better soon!

Could he have eaten something that could cause this behavior? He might've gotten into something he shouldn't have. There's no harm in calling the vet. It's free, convenient, and gets the job done. Furthermore, let the puppy have lots of water and rest.

Not only do you have to worry about the pet food recall, you also have to worry about parvovirus, which hits puppies pretty hard. Get to the vet IMMEDIATELY. Especially if puppy isn't drinking any water.

He could be cured with a lot of rest and a lot of water..but to be safe..your best bet would be to take him to the vet, it wouldn't cost very much to get him checked out, and sometimes these things are more dangerous in pure bred animals. Good luck!

certain it sounds like she has parvo. Our dogs got here down with those indications on Monday, and a pair of days later she couldn't even walk. She is contained in the puppy health midsection now revieving medical look after parvo. they're giving her antibiotics and IV's to furnish her a danger to triumph over it. The vet reported that if we had waited any further she does no longer have survived. flow to the vet ASAP!

You need to have your puppy seen by your local veterinarian. Due to your puppies age, their bodies cant fight off things like an adult dog would. If the problem worsens, you need to bring him/her to an emergency hospital. This could be something major. I wish you the best of luck :)

has the dog been in the yard as of late? because if it has it could have eaten grass and grass acts as an emetic,if your dogs stomach is upset then it will eat grass to get sick because somthing is upsetting it.if this isnt the case, then i would take it to the vets.

Sounds like Parvo to me, and if it is, tomorrow morning it'll be too late to save it.
Take its temperature, and if it is over 102 degrees, you need to get to an E.R. Vet immediately!!
