Yes, especially if it's a smaller dog.

At least call.

If ANY dog eats Chocolate then they should be seen by a Vet. Chocolate contains Theobromine, an enzyme which is good for us but poisonous to dogs. Grapes are also very toxic.
A story I read recently was where a dog ate chocolate and the lady owner wasn't sure what to do. She rang the Vet and he said that he would have to see the dog. The lady said that she would bring the dog in when she got home from work that evening. The vet replied. "If you wait that long you may not have a dog by then!"

Phone your vet and let him know. He may want him in just to check on him. Chocolates are bad, and so are raisins. (Although it depends on the size of the dog, and the amount eaten.) If you have some charcoal, give him some. Or some charcoal biscuits. Charcoal removes impurities, and is what the vet would use anyway. But at the first sign of any change in your dog's demeanor.......get him to the vet.

Raspberry says that just a few raisins and you need to rush your dog to a vet........I fed raisins (eight per dog) for years with no problems....so I think it depends on the dog. Most dogs have to eat a *lot* to have serious problems.

Dogs and Chocolates

Chocolate made for human consumption can cause death in dogs. Dogs are sensitive to a class of chemicals called methylxanthines. Caffeine and theobtomine are members of that family. Dogs simply cannot metabolise and excrete methylxanthines as efficiently as humans. The half life of those compounds in the human body is in the order of 2 to 3 hours, in the dog it is more like 18 hours. Dark chocolate is at least 10 times as lethal. A 25 kilograms dog could die from the methylxanthines in 5 ounces.

I would check with your vet to be sure.
Chocolate toxicity varies with the type of chocolate and size of the dog. You just never know how your dog will react and it's best to be sure, isn't it?
Grapes and raisins don't seem to cause problems unless several ounces are consumed at one sitting.

My aunt had a toy poodle that ate a 2 pound bag of M&Ms and was fine, but friends had to induce vomiting in a 90 pound coonhound that had just a few ounces of chocolate.

Chocolate is deadly and so is raisins. I would see a vet. They can seem fine one minute and then be dead the next. It comes on fast. If he's a 200 lb dog I wouldn't worry as much if he is a small or medium sized dog, but I would still get to the vet. That's a bad combo.

Grapes (raisins) are bad for dogs and chocolate makes them have loose stool or vomit. If he's a larger breed, he'll probably be fine, but smaller breed (30lbs and under) you should take him to the vet or at least call them.

While the pathetic begging look that goes across the face of a dog wanting chocolate can weaken the most stoic dog owner, stay firm. Do not give in. Ever.
Once dogs have tasted chocolate, they want more.
And for dogs, that's a bad thing.

Symptoms of Chocolate Dog Ingestion and Poisoning
You can recognize that your dog has eaten a toxic dose of chocolate from the symptoms. Within the first few hours, the evidence includes vomiting, diarrhea or hyperactivity. As time passes and there's increased absorption of the toxic substance, you'll see an increase in the dog's heart rate, which can cause arrhythmia, restlessness, hyperactivity, muscle twitching, increased urination or excessive panting.
This can lead to hyperthermia, muscle tremors, seizures, coma and even death.
If your dog shows any of the above symptoms take it to the vet ASAP!
