NEVER EVER feed your dog a bone. I worked for a vet for many years, and most of the emergency cases involved dogs that had eaten a bone! One dog i remember very well had eaten a ham bone, the dog was hemorrhaging from its rectum, alot like water comes thru a garden hose. The bone had chewed her up all the way thru her system, the dog did live after 3 days of being on i.v's and lots of other expensive medical vet care procedures, but the poor thing had suffered horribly. another one had a pork chop bone stuck in his throat that had to be surgically removed, i don't care how sharp a dogs teeth are, a dog just is not designed to eat a bone!!!!

I feed my dogs bones all the time and have since I was four or five years old! ;-)

I don't give them fish bones but they love bones, even if it's chicken bones that have been chewed a bit and included in their table scraps that add taste to their dried dog food.

Is your dog very tiny? I've never had one of those, so I'd check your vet if your dog is the toy variety, just to be sure.

Enjoy your dog soul mate! ;-)

Be careful that the bone is not too brittle. Ham bones are best--chicken, the worst. My friend's dog got blocked-up with a piece of bone and it cost him 200$ to get removed. Also it was terrible pain for dog. Bones today are not like years ago. Animals are fed for meat not strenght.

Just not chicken bones and make sure your dog gets a good diet, not all table food.

feeding a dog a big strong bone is ok, do not ever feed raw flest or meat cos it will infect the stomach, and a big piece of bone is fine cos it my bite the bone and the teeth gets strong and also sharpless which will avoide accident of piercing ur hand while playing with the dog, i never feed bones to my dog cos it stops shiting and i have to carry them to hospital later so big peice of strong bone is fine but never chicken bone or small smooth bone

RAW bones (beef, lamb, whatever) are great for dogs, as long as they are big enough so they cant get stuck in their mouth. They help clean teeth, help with bad breath and are good for jaws. My dogs get one to chew on once a week.

cooked bones (and chicken bones) splinter and can injure or kill your dog and should never be fed to them.

Its better to give htem store baught bones or chews like real pigs ears things like that. But on occasion it should be ok to give real ones. But they can get their teeth stuck in them or swallow a piece and thats not good.
