He is 7 months old. He had the procedure done 6 days ago, the area is slightly red and has a little greeny pus around it. We keep having to stop him licking it, but he generally seems to be well and acting normal. He has disolvable stitches.
Will he need to go to the vets? They only said look out for swelling.

I got my sweet little 8 week old Shar Pei puppy 2 days ago. He is the most intelligent dog I've ever seen. He learns so fast it's unbelievable. I prise him every time he does something good and he really likes it. Soon I should start training him to walk on a leash and that's my problem. I've read a lot and most of the articles say that Shar Pei's and Boxer's owners should use choke collars on their pups. I think it is cruel! I think if I use such a collar my pup would hate me. Isn't it possible to use a normal buckle collar? Please help me. What kind of collar does your Shar Pei have?

for a well bred pit bull?
I know the difference between Staffordshire Terriors, American Bull Dogs and American Staffordshire Terriors, but never thought that a AmStaff was anything but a glorified Pit Bull.
If you know any sites that explain a difference, or if they are the same... please let me know.
I own a pit bull, love him to peices, would like to know if this whole time I have been calling him an Amstaff incorrectly.

Tonight he urinated on the floor and it was dark pink (and not in celebration of Valentine's Day either...), I am going to take a sample of his urine to the vet tomorrow to rule out kidney disease or UTI. He is about 6 years old with no history of either. He eats Royal Canine's Yorkshire Terrier food (on this diet for over 3 years) so his breath always smells like fish. I was reading that foods high in protein may be bad for dogs with kidney problems, is this food bad? Are there any other explanations?

My 8 month old pup keeps whining. It starts when my husband and I have gone out and when we come back, she starts to whine. We figured she was just upset about being left alone but she's been left alone before and it's never bothered her this much. We play with her, we take her outside, we feed her and give her water, we pet her, we've tried everything but she'll just whine and whine for like forty five minutes. What could be wrong with her?

Some dogs have accidents. How do I get mine not to? I have a 4 year old cocker spaniel that we just got from a family where the owner stayed home all day.

We are adopting a pit bull mix and the foster parents suggesting a running line for him. I am just unsure of what that exactly is and how to set it up for him so he gets the exercise he needs.

I have a 90 lbs GSD/Rhodesian mix 11 month old dog that is an angel. The only thing she does is she chews her bedding. I got her a (semi) expensive one, and she has a hole in it already. I don't want her to ruin it, but if I put it down, the first thing she does is attacks it and starts tearing at it.

She doesn't do this to my chairs, my couch, or anything else.

Is there anything I can do, or spray on the bed, that will make it unappetizing...but not make it stink to where she won't lay on it?

Thanks!

Mismo is a boy...well, an IT, really; he's been neutered since before we got him. He's almost 17 months old, and should be fully grown at 24 months. We have NEVER abused him--he's our baby!!--and the people who raised him were good to him (we were second owners). We play with him a good portion every day. I think he licks to show his love, but it's very annoying because you always have to wear a sweater around him. Except for this habit, he is a very well-behaved dog.
