I live in apartment complex. The people next to me have a dog which barks all day. It has woken me up literally every morning for the last 4 months straight. I work nights, and often work late into the night, so I don't appreciate being woken up every morning at 7am when I don't usually get to bed until 4 or 5 am.

They leave for work every morning, and the whole time they are gone, their dog does not stop barking. It constantly barks from 7am until they return from work at around 5pm (and even then, it sometimes continues to bark)

Sometimes, I go and knock on their door to talk about it with them (when I know they'll be home), but they never answer. So, I have left multiple notes on their door about the problem and asked them to talk to me about it. They haven't yet. I have contacted my landlord about it half a dozen times. Nothing is working.

This dog is making me lose sleep every day. My work is suffering because of it.

I need to take this to the next level. Any suggestions?

I'm a student living in an apartment through student housing. The program isn't affiliated with my school but provides apartments for students. The apartment complex I am living in allows dogs but the program I am in through the student housing does not allow dogs. Its just some rule they made up because they think were 10 year olds. I really want a puppy. I have had dogs all my life and I don't want that to change. Im on the opposite coast of my family and friends and I think having a dog would make me a little happier. They come and inspect the apartment once every 2 months but I plan on taking the dog and his bowls and toys and any trace of dog out with me for the day. They do not come without giving notice. What do you guys think? Should I get a puppy? Oh by the way.. Im only in this program until June and then I'm finding a place outside of the program. Ill only have the dog in their apartment for 5 months.

I have watched these shows a few times and cannot believe how horribly people can treat their pets and animals with total neglect and/or physical abuse. Its unbelievable. What can be done to solve this? What is the worst one youve seen?

he passed away a year ago... i cannot put my finger on what he is because he is a mixed breed. I have plenty of mixed breeds (Husky x german shep, staffy x kelpie and so on) but this one i cannot figure out and it bugs me... he had short stumpy legs, a big head and looked nothing like his brothers or sisters... they are more of brown tall kelpies but still a mixed breed. .... so why did he turn out different? oh and he was born fat but he was the coolest dog EVER!!

It is false that Pocket Beagles "don't exist". The Beagle is a recognised AKA breed and has a breed standard of 15" and 13" inches. A new breed, the Olde English Pocket Beagle, bred carefully using only purebred Beagles of high quality and diminutive stature with a breed standard of 12" or below and ideally at "10 is emerging and going through the proper steps to be eventuallly recognized by the AKA. Another new breed, much more carelessly and controversially bred mostly from small Beagles with an outflux of Miniature Dachshund blood, the Queen Elizabeth Pocket Beagle, which can get extremely small, has also emerged. It is becoming very popular although the breeding process had many flaws and the dogs may be the next "puppy mill" victims, but the best specimens are fantastic dogs and it's a great shame that more care isn't being taken with them. Many homeless Beagles crossed with Dachshunds(Doxles) or other small breeds are available to adopt through "Beagle Rescues" or Pet Finders

My Westie pup is about 4 months old.
Is he too young?
If so, please recommend other products which fit the age requirement.

How come dogs get mad at you when you blow in their face, but then will turn around and stick their head out the window of a moving vehicle going at 55 mph and try to lick the wind?

I have a 4 month old dachshund. She wakes me up at 8am to go outside to potty, then at 10am after breakfast, then at 6 or 7pm as soon as I get home from work, then again after dinner, then at 11pm right before bed. She sleeps in a pet carrier at night with a bed and blanket and has never peed in there. She stays in a crate during the day. It is a good size, but I don’t use a divider because a bed in it takes up the whole floor space. She has had this routine since 7 weeks old. She has never peed in her crate until about 3 weeks ago. I have thought about putting in the divider, but she pees in the middle of her bed, not a corner or side. Why is she not holding it during the day for 6-8 hours if she can easily hold her bladder for atleast 8 hours overnight??

Could it have anything to do with her eating an hour before I leave for work (even though I take her to the bathroom after) while at night she doesn’t eat for 4 hours before going to bed? Do I not feed her before work? help!

We live in a 3000sqft. house with a huge(10+acres unwooded, Park-like) unfenced yard. I have a 10yr old Female Elkhound who is still very active. I have 4 kids (9yr-3mo). We hate shedders (yea I know Elk Hound???) I am confindent to train but not as much time as I had with my elk. She does not need a leash and will do anything I ask. We are looking for a active, durable, smart, kind and protective dog under 70-80lbs. 20-60lbs not ruled out. I have been looking for some time and thought about so many but need real opinions, not authors opinions. Thank you so much if you respond.

adopted a 3 year old Lhasa Apso from the animal shelter. She is black and white with hair laying all in her face. Her body was shaved short though. Well she was sweet and cute so I adopted her. I immediately took her to the vet and she tested positive for heart worms, plus, when they pulled her hair back to check her eyes they had a greyish film over them. They said they were lacerations from years of letting her hair lay in her eyes. I don't want to take her back because they will put her down as they don't have the funds to get her well. The heartworm treatment is 200.00, and her eyes will have to stay like they are. The vet said it is not affecting her eye sight that much. Should I notify the animal shelter about this? The vet is going to let me pay out the bill.

100 lbs. Akita has been drinking a LOT of water and deficating and urinating a lot more often the past couple of days. Tonight she started crying like she was in pain when she would lay a certain way. Her belly seems tight and it hurts her to to be touched in certain areas. Anybody have any ideas what could be?
