I found out 2 days ago she has 2 large tumors attached to her liver and 1 small one attached to her spleen. I forget the name of this condition, but I found it is not uncommon in German Shepherd Dogs. She is my baby, and she's only 8. I need to put her down, and it's SO HARD! I don't know what I'm going to do without her!

I have two large dogs and it dosen't seem right to put it in plastic non-biodegradable grocery bags and send it to the dump. I want something non-smelly (as much as possible considering it's poop) that dosen't cost much money.

I own a 10 month old Rottwieler and his Sire is due to have another litter at the end of April (same Sire, different ***** of course. -That would make the 2nd breeding too soon) I want to get another male. Xander (the 10 month old) is very social and gets along well with the male pup next door and doesn't get aggressive among new animals. With the two Rotts having the same father, one being 8 weeks and the other just under a year will that increase the chances of conflict? I hear often that two males aren't a good match but I'm more concerned about them being half brothers and if for some reason that would cause them to react differently to each other. Maybe it doesn't matter either way but is this something I should consider when we purchase our next dog?

on tuesday we had this horrible ice/sleet storm, we went out side, played in the snow, all's good right? over the night, we got about another 2 inches of ice and sleet, and everything was ROCK SOLID, you couldnt even tell we had been out the night before, our tracks were completely covered and everything was just a sheet of ice, it even held my 300lbs bf without cracking, so this is thick ice. only problem, our puppy refuses to go potty outside because she cant squat without sliding (the yard isnt too flat). we took her to work with us and she went in the parking lot cause the plow had come thru and tore it up, but since we got home at like 5, she's only peed outside 3 times, thats it. she wont poop at all. this morning i got her to pee, but i spent almost 45 minutes outside with her and she refuses to go. my bf couldnt take her to work again today, and i cant take her, so she has to stay home. she just refuses to go, she'll even just sit down and stare, like "take me in now"

I have a very active, clever Westie. I also have a vet who is more expensive than most. I never grudge getting him the best of care but he has me a bit baffled this week. I was out Mon afternoon and when I came in he was limping and hopping about holding his left paw up. I have carefully examined in, nothing stuck in it and have pressed all the way down from his thigh and he doesn't give the slightest hint of pain or yelps. Even when out he is holding the paw up but going very fast on 3 legs. However, suddenly if he sees something he is off almost faster than the speed of sound on all fours. Also when he jumps up on me seems to have no problem leaning his paws on me. I don't imagine it is athritic as it has came on so suddenly. Anyone got an idea about this? Now Thurs and he is still behaving in this manner, we have loads of ground for him to roam about in and as I've been typing this he is off again on the chase showing no problem with paw.

My 11 wk old puppy howls (softly) as the squeaky sound comes out of his squeaky toys. Is that normal? It's a little unnerving... Should I stop him? If so, how?

Serious answers please. My boyfriend's 9 month old pup has done everything from destroying the furniture by eating all the coushins, eating expensive shoes, found sharp objects around the house, jumps on the bed, etc I could go on and on. The pup had obedience training so he knows how to "sit", "down", "come", but when we're not looking - he's making a big mess! Do puppies outgrow this behavior? If so, by what age? Please tell me there is hope - something positive to look forward to, I can't have more stuff destroyed....

We are living in Galicia, Spain and about a week ago an abandoned (the Spanish are good at abandoning amimals and we have already adopted a spanish cat and dog) Mastin dog appeared near our house. These are native spainsh dogs and I don't know a lot about them. I am presently feeding it and obviously it is quite happy to stay around! It is very nervous of strangers although with myself and two children it is very friendly, giving the paw etc. buit with my husband still v. scared and backs away. Is there anything I should know or be aware of???

I've had my 2 y/o Golden Retriever for 6 months. He has always scratched and bit some as if he has allergies. The doctoir says whatever the allergy is, it is slight. Ten days ago I switched my dog from Science Diet to Solid God "Barking at the Moon"--an all natural food. My dog loves it. However, he has been sneezing since I switched foods. I'm not sure if the timing of the sneezing is coincidental or not. What do you think?

Whilst out walking in a 'doggy' area, people treat her. She is a Ridgeback, so very big and I don't want her jumping. She is otherwise very good and was starting to learn before this started! How would I use clicker training to do this?

I know that grape and apple seeds are harmful, and of course, chocolate - but are there any other foods that are absolute taboo to dogs? Before you all freak out saying that dogs should only have high quality dog food, let me say, I already know that - but I want to make sure that my "baby" never gets into anything else that may be dangerous that I don't know about. And - occasionally, I do let her have something besides dog food. For instance, last night, my husband cooked a nice beef and rice dinner for me for V-day. We let our puppy have some of the cooked beef. She loved it.

My 14 or 15 yo rottie Samantha (rescue dog) has become basically immobile and the vet says it is irreversible. I know the right thing to do is to let her go with dignity but part of me wants to just keep her home and wait for the end. I feel like a traitor.
