The cases that stick out most in my mind are the embedded collars. I can't imagine how painful that must be for those poor dogs.
Personally, I think that show is really good to even just improve awareness of animal abuse and neglect. You know, I always heard about animals being treated badly but until you watch that show, you don't really realize it, and how serious of a problem it is. Call me ignorant, but its the truth. Hopefully once people watch this show and see if they see it happen in their neighborhood, maybe it will give them more incentive to call the police or humane society to help save the animals.

As soon as I say that I say the worst on those shows, I will see something that is even worse. Any of the embedded collars and starvation/abandonment cases really bother me, and it never ceases to amaze (and disgust) me to see what people do to animals. It is really sad how many people get dogs and do not feed them.
I work at vet clinic that is the vet for the city (animal control) and it is even worse seeing what people do to dogs firsthand. We recently had a Great Dane come in that was 75lbs underweight, and he just looked like a walking skeleton. He is the worse starvation case that I have even seen (including what I have seen on TV). Thankfully, someone felt sorry for him and adopted him because he really deserved to get to go to a good home where the people love him.
I do not think that there is ever going to be a stop to animal cruelty (I wish that there was though), but I think that it would help to make the penalties much much stronger.

Animal Precinct - the people who put a litter of new born pups in the garbage, alive. The neighbors found them, but out of something like 10 puppies, only two survived.
Also the people who leave dogs out on the fire escape where they freeze to death.
The people who mistreat horses on Animal Cops Houston, the ones who are so ill, they have no chance.

The worst case of cruelty to animals I have seen was in my own vets office while waiting for my dogs appointment. This lady brought in these pups and a mother dog that she owned. She kept the dog outside in a very small kennel with her pups in the middle of July. They had all gotten torn up by fly bites, but the pup s were the worst. They were only about 3 weeks old and not able to try to escape the flies. Well the flies had laid eggs on these pups head and ears, and the maggots had eaten holes into the top of their skulls. They all had what looked like little worm holes in their skulls and you could see the maggots down in the holes. They were literally eating the pups brains. The vet almost passed out when he seen them. I had to reschedule my appointment so they could attend to the pups, and when I went back, I found out that only one pup lived and it was blind. The vet turned the lady in for animal abuse. I swear it was the nasty thing I have ever seen, and they were just these sweet little pups not even old enough to be away from their mom.

one of the most horrible things I've seen was an episode of the Phoenix Cops, a cat had climbed over a solid fence and fallen into a cactus...it was soooo covered with cactus spines that you couldn;t even tell it was a cat
as far as cruelty , it's starved dogs in all sorts of conditions and embedded collars, how horrible do you have to be to be able to ignore that?

I remember the worst one I've seen. I think it was Detroit. In that episode, a pit bull snuck into somebody's house and attacked another pit bull. both dogs were euthanized :( it was really sad because they shown the dogs after the fight was over and they really went through it...
I haven't watched that show since then.

The worse one was when 2 officers went to a house and in the snow there laid a puppy(?) not sure what age. But anyway it was licking the snow really slowly. They picked him up and he went limp, they didnt think he would make it to the hospital. He was not only frozen but very skinny. They worked on him all night long. And 2 days later one of the officers came to see how he was doing and the puppy licked his hand, he was going to be alright. I think the officer had tears in his eyes. Believe that was the detroit one. Loolea, I also agree that was one of the top ten worse ones, with the cactus kitty.

Think d worst 've seen..cant recall from animal cops/precinct or somewer else but it was bout this old lady that adores pekingese dogs n other animals..she used to enter em in competitions,shows..etc..then her fav pekingese died..n she got new ones....then as age caught up wid her..she wasnt payin as much attn to her dogs n other animals. She was actually quite well off n weird thing was, she only lets her brother visit her in only 1 particular room, the tea room..everythin is clean, shining silver n she's always dressed so prim n proper. She even owned antique furniture n stuff.Only after she died, ppl around her realized the truth. After she passed her brother had to pack all her things up,he had to call for animal control n a cleanin crew or somethin coz beside that clean proper room...all d other rooms in the house was in horrible state.there were dead stinkin corpses of dogs everywer..basement , bedrooms , bathrooms...she even had her precious favorite dog's dead body wrapped in a pretty box wid ribbons n a wrapper , n a few other nicely stacked in her closet as if it was some precious clothing. There were animalpoo all over d place..her bed..bathroom.She pratically slept in animal poop all d time..wer no one else has seen.Birdcages wid birds that r long dead..lil tiny bones n wots left of d feathers.Roaches everywer. When they started to dig into d house a lil more...there were dead animals everywer...even 1 chihuahua in a cage so small wid d head stickin outta a small hole coz d food bowl n water bowl was bout 2feet away from her. They said d dog must have starved itself to death tryin to get to d food bowl. When they went into d build-in garage..they actually found a dead pony..n u wudnt believe it..its body had decomposed so badly that its already now apart of d cement floor..wots left was d skin n rib bones stickin outta d cement..imagine my horror..it was unbelievable! after they "cleaned" her whole place up..they counted around over 50 dead dogs n other animals. They said she luved her animals so much that even when dead it shall never leave her side...n thats bout d worst thing i've ever seen! So..tell me wot u tink?? :o)

I agree with Crystal (above). The worst thing I have ever seen on the show was the german shepard that had one of those chain "choker" type collars. They kept the dog chained up and the puppy grew into his collar until it was embedded in his neck. It was so sad...there were parts around his neck that all you could see was flesh, and the lumps of the chain underneath.
