puppies can't regulate their temps....bring them in or you could lose them......signs that she is ready may be whining....nesting (digging and nosing to make a nest like area).....if she looks like she is uncomfortable than she probably is ready to have them....who knows how many puppies.....1-6?

You should at least bring her indoors until the puppies r born, that way u can observe her to be sure she isn`t having any problems giving birth. Prepare a large box with shredded newspaper inside so that it can be removed and replaced with soft blanket or old towels, after she is done whelping. Usually, the dog will dig and move the shredded paper into a "nest" when she is ready to have her puppies. She will usually do all that is needed as each pup arrives, but stand by in case she needs help. Get directions from ur vet before puppies arrive if u r not familiar with handling any unexpected problems. Do no move mother and puppies outdoors for several weeks and then only to a straw filled warm doghouse protected from the weather. U had better get some info on these matters from ur vet before puppies arrive, or u might lose some of them due to ur lack of knowledge.

Why on God's green earth did you breed her without knowing the answers to these questions?! Aren't there enough pit bulls that get put to death because of backyard breeders like you that you had to breed her as well? Please spay your female when she weans the pups, for the love of God. YES, let her come inside and you can make a whelping box out of a kiddie pool in the garage or laundry room, just make sure it is warm. If not, get a warming lamp (found in feed stores for chickens or pet stores for reptiles). Her body temperature will drop when she's about to have them. You can have an ultrasound done after about a month of the pregnancy or an x-ray done after about 6 weeks. Pups should NOT leave mom and the litter before 8 weeks of age (it is illegal in most states to buy, sell, or give away a pup any younger than this). And for the 8 trillionth time, SPAY YOUR DOG.

Bring her in the house. You should observe her while she is having the puppies in case she has any problems and requires assistance. I'm in Georgia too and it's down in the 20's tonight. Pits are shorthaired dogs and are people lovers. Why leave her outside at anytime?

Have you taken her to a vet during her pregnancy? They can x-ray her and tell you about how many pups are in there. Have you done anything to prepare for the arrival of the pups? They need to be kept warm as well as momma.

you should keep the mother dog indoor so she can still feed her puppies and the puppies also need to be around their mother no matter what how old theyre are . well frist thing you shouldnt leave the dog outside if its going be cold cause she can get running nose and end up sick with the bad cold if she do get sick then she can gave it to the puppies you dont want that happen . you also should buy or gave the puppies have some safe dogs toys to play with and i hope theyre potty train ?
