Demonstrate your knowledge of the breed, and an understanding of their needs and any problems associated with them..
If you have read a good book on that breed, that will really impress the breeder. I require that all prospects read a certain book about my breed, and if they won't do it, and are not able to discuss the book with me, they don't get a puppy.

If the breeder doesn't ask you a LOT of questions, steer away from them!
If you feel they are trying to talk you into their puppy, steer away from them!

First of all, be VERY careful when buying a pup over the internet! I have ran into a TON of scams! Just watch out! I would tell anyone that the best thing to do would be to look in your local paper or a near by cities paper. They have lots of ads for dogs and you can actually go to the breeders home and look at them. I would never buy a dog over the internet. If they don't just take your money and run, there is a chance that your pup could be unhealthy or have a major problem you dont know about and you'll have no way in getting contact with the person. If you buy a pup locally, you can see where the pup was living and under what conditions. Also, you want to make sure it's not coming from a puppy mill and it's AKC registerable. The only reason I say that is that the AKC is very strict on how many litters they will allow a dog to have. If you want a good pup, I would wait and get one locally and not buy over the internet. Nomatter what good of a price they are trying to give you or how cute the dog might be.

Nothing really. I, being a breeder, Can tell in 3 min if I want to sale a puppy to you or not. It is not what you know, because not all know about all dogs. That is why you ask a dog breeder questions. If you can't ask them nor she can answer them there is a red light there. I turn down some just by talking to them over the phone. Just something in their voice I didn't like.

When I sale a puppy I take them into my home, I have had people here playing with my dogs for up to four hours. I like to watch them with my dogs and how my dogs are with them. Dogs are the best judge of people.

Don't worry if you are an excellent dog owner, they will be able to tell. It doesn't matter if it is over the net, on the phone or in person. It is many things we look for, same as you when you purchase a puppy from a breeder. Just be yourself that is the best advice I can give you.

Well be honest I am a dog breeder and I ask lots of Questions to see how well the person has study the breed and the care it needs. The last thing I want is my pups going to bad homes just do your research on the breed so you know what to look forward to I breed English Bulldogs and there is alot people need to know about this breed and I make sure they do if. I have an application type of paper that ask some Q on the breed for example : Care, the proper amount of excersise. health problems in the breed Why they thing this breed is proper for them? Just some Q like that. Just study the breed you are buying carefully so you know.

If the breeder dose not ask you Q go eleswere not a reputable breeder be carefull when buying your new pal and good luck.

Be honest. Answer all of the breeder's questions truthfully. A responsible breeder will ask you many, many questions! If they don't, beware.

As others have mentioned, I would be very cautious about buying a puppy "off the internet". A responsible breeder would want to meet you in person. If all they're asking is what airport you want your puppy shipped to, and what's your credit card number, you are in the WRONG place. It's always a good idea to visit the breeder's kennel and meet all of the dogs, as well as the person you're buying from.

I require it from anyone looking for a puppy, or adult rescue dog from me.

I assume you're looking for a Malamute puppy? Have you been unable to locate breeders in your area? Have you checked this link?

Be honest. If you have to pretend, theyll probably catch you on it, or find you suspicious if their a good breeder. If you have all the accomodations for the dog, whats to worry. Often, breeders that are just out for the money wont even care. Be knowledgable, know what you want, and be truthful on what youll be using the dog for. My opinion... anyone that would sell a dog over the internet doesnt care where its going. Why are they selling online? They may have a bad rep in their area. Is this a puppy mill? Just some questions to ask yourself.

Really really research the breed, so if the breeder asks you questions you will be able to answer them. Also, make sure that they breed fits your personality and lifestyle.

Tell them the truth. I believed you why would'nt they?
If you need to be more elabrate with us, we like to know our puppies in your care have room to run.
Some kids to play with and another puppy makes me happy and you are not just going to start your own crappy puppy mill.
