How do you set up a running line for a dog?

We are adopting a pit bull mix and the foster parents suggesting a running line for him. I am just unsure of what that exactly is and how to set it up for him so he gets the exercise he needs.

Do you mean like a dog trolley? It is a piece of plastic coated wire that you string between two trees, then you put a pulley on it with about 10 feet of cording which you attach the dog to. You can purchase them at Petco (I am not sure about Petsmart) and you can order them online.

It a fence off running track for dogs. Put post up 3 meter apart and run plastic barrier or wiring along it.
