My cat, Lily, is what I would call, uh, "Tons of fun"... she's large and in charge if you get what I'm saying. The past few days she has discovered that it's nice and warm on top of the computer monitor. How can I keep her off of it? It's driving me crazy.

I can't spray water on her when she's on the monitor... so that option is out.

she said that she was allergic to cats and the cats kept coming over to her property (outside with every other alergen in the world). i told her what i thought. one person answered that she should give the cats antifreeze. what do you think of the person who answered like that? that was not my answer.

Our cat, an inherited one about 13 years old, has a nasty habit of weeing or otherwise in certain specific places in the house, usually within a meter of the litter box she is either too lazy or stupid to use. How do I convince her the spots she uses are not the ones we want her to use and direct her to the box? We never see her do it, just find the .... prezzies. Suggetions please.

i just brought a new kitten home. As soon as he settled down, he found a nice spot and slept. He had been sleeping technically from morning till night though sometimes he woke up and play around abit. Is this normal for a kitten to sleep all day long?

I just got my cats to stay off the Christmas tree this year. They finally outgrew it! I am headed today to adopt a new kitten who will certainly climb the tree. I just love kittens at Christmastime and all the time. With everyone complaining about their cats and Christmas trees, have I lost my mind?

My new kitten that I have had for a week, is in good healther except, that he has some ticks that i have been removing every night. I found at least 10 on him. They are so hard to catch and plus on a squirming little kitten. Anyway I gave him a bath but it didnt seem to help. The kitten has black dirt on it's stomach and its really heeavy in some spots. What is this? TIck dirt? Tick eggs? He doesnt scratch so they aren't fleas? Any help would be great? I keep removing the ticks and killing them, but this kitten is inside and I dont want bugs in my house. THanks!

Ive had my cat since february, and hes always been a fluffy beast, but after someone jokingly showed me a photo of a GIANT maine coon http://www.neatorama.com/images/2006-05/riley-maine-coon-cat.jpg and i looked into do i think that he might be one too!
He has the huge fluffy tail, the long fur between his toes, fluff on the tips of his ears, he chirups at me constantly, and just looks like one! hes only nearly 1 year old now...
Also im wondering, if he is one, how do they get to be that HUGE? Or is it just a freak thing that happens?
do you think if i took him to the vets they could tell?
Thank you!

When my cat notices the pigeons outside (the balcony door is closed) and she can't reach them, she opens her mouth and makes a strange clicking sound. What does this mean? Sometimes she's only flashing her teeth without the sound, all while staring at the pigeons. Is she just consumed with the desire to hunt them and eat them? Or is it something else?

I have an 8 year old cat that was having problems eating a few weeks back. I was feeding him one night, and then he started growling, and running like he was in pain or just plain mad. Every once in a while he does the same thing without being fed. It looks like he is gagging after eating something disgusting, after about 10 - 15 seconds he is fine. I think he is trying to extract a hairball(s), and can't. Is there anything that I can give him for it? I feed him Dry, and Wet food. I am feeding him milk, without any problems. I will be taking him next week to get checked out, but i was wondering if anybody has had similar problems.

Last week, I adopted a 4-year old fixed male cat. We don't want him to sit on our couch and go to upstairs. I tried to use cat repellent, but no use. He still goes upstairs. Please help.

My older cat almost always sleeps on her back and my younger one does it on occasion. I would think that'd be uncomfortable due to the way a cat's body is structured.

Aside from the usual things such as ear mites and worms.... I have two cats that I rescued from farms. One is a full grown adult, and the other is still young (they are not from the same place and I've had the adult for 3 years longer than the baby). Are there any problems either mentally or physically that farm cats might suffer from more than cats born elsewhere?

When she was a kitten she was fine, but then one day she decided she hated the vet. She'll get into her carrier with no problems, and the car ride there is fine. Then the second we walk in the door she starts screaming... not growling or hissing, but screams like a human being murdered. It's the worst sound ever. It's really loud and really embarrassing. It sucks because she absolutely won't let anyone touch her so if she needs to be looked at it's impossible! I know she's scared, but my other cat doesn't do this. Is there anything I can do to keep her from going nuts? I swear the vet dreads when I come.

I have had my cat since 2002 and got her when she was a kitten. She's lived with one other cat since I've had her and then I got a new roommate and she was an only cat. She's my baby, and always will be. We got a kitten this past May and although she's learned to tolerate her, sometimes I feel like she thinks I don't love her as much anymore. Do cats have that sense? Can they be mad or think you love them less? I did pay a lot of attention to the baby at first because I wanted to keep an eye on her, but I still made sure to pay attention to my older cat.

Sometimes my younger cat will be sleeping and then meow and abruptly wake up and look around like she's confused. I'm assuming she was having some crazy dream. Do you think cats just dream about food and chasing stuff?

I finally JUST found her paperwork from the SPCA, yea took me about 3 months to find it again, how long does it take for a female cat to go into heat, at what age do they normally start the crazy howling?
