Hi there... Estrus ("heat") is the mating period of female animals. A cat in heat carries her tail to one side, keeps her hindquarters elevated, exhibits "treading" movements of the hind legs, and seems unusually affectionate. She spends a good deal of the time rolling on the floor and seems very restless. The cat's voice seems more piercing than usual and she may "call" for 1 - 2 days before she accepts the male. Cats normally have their first heat cycle between 5 - 10 months of age, with the average age around 6 months. The female cat has 2 - 4 heat cycles every year, each lasting about 15 -22 days. If she is bred, the heat cycle seldom lasts more than 4 days. If successful mating does not occur, estrus may last for 7 -10 days and recur at 15 - 21 day intervals. It is possible for an unmated female to cycle every 3 - 4 weeks indefinitely. Cats also have a heat cycle 1 -6 weeks after giving birth, so a female may be nursing one litter while pregnant with another. Cats do not have any vaginal discharge or swelling of the genitals during their heat cycle, as seen in dogs. Behavioural changes are they only obvious signs.

Heat is when a female cat wants a male cat. They walk around meowing alot, put their little tushies up in the air and role around. If she's doing this don't allow her to get around any unfixed male cats or you will have a litter of kittens in about two months.

Heat cycles usually only last for about a week. When she seems to be calm and back to her old self. Take her to the vet and have her examined. If they confirm she's definitly not in heat anymore, have her fixed. It is a lot healthier for her and she will live a lot longer if you do this. Since heat cycles and possibly having babies takes a lot out of a cat and their hormones can cause the same kind of cancers that humans can get.

If your kitty is in heat, there is no way of GETTING her out of heat.
In heat means she is coming of age to want kittens. she will go through a cycle similar to a female human. she will meow alot and rub up against things for about a week. If your kitty is fixed though it is highly unlikely to act this way. they seem to chill out. Is your kitty eating? she should still be eating during this. If need be, take her to the vet and have her checked out.

If a cat is in heat it means she is looking for a mate. It goes in cycles until you get her spayed (fixed). Unless you want a lot of kittens running round the place I would suggest getting her spayed as soon as possible. There are enough unwanted kittens in the world already. That is the only way to stop the behaviour and the cycle.

You seriously don't know what heat is?????? A cat's heat cycle is like a human's period. Cat's will have a heat cycle every few months until you get her spayed. If you want to avoid your cat going into heat take it to your vet and get her spayed

If she is meowing more than usual and rubbing herself against you I would say she is in heat. To avoid unwanted kittens I suggest get your cat spayed.

If she's in heat it just means that she is horny and needs to have some good old fashion cat sex. You might want to think about getting her uterus removed(spayed), so she don't act crazy on her time of the month!

Good Luck.

IF she is in heat that means she wants to have sex. Animals bodies know when they need to reproduce and they automatically will function that way intheir youth. Get the cat fixed if you don't want it to act like that.
