One of the cats is laid back, and the other is high strung, and part Abbysinian. Two days ago, she started puffing up her tail and attacking ferociously, going for blood. It looks like a demon is in her. She is calm with the family and does not show any signs of foaming at the mouth. I don't know what to do.

MY 6 month old male cat will not use the litter box to pee, just my new carpet. When we got him home from the vet he peed in the kitchen but I just chalked it up to he had held it for a few days. He then later peed on the carpet. When I put him in the office to confine him with the litter box, he pushed most of the litter out and slept in it. Are there any solutions to get him to stop this?

My outdoor cat had a foot injury, but has since received treatment. His foot is no longer swollen but I think that because he had been limping/hopping for several days, he doesn't realize it doesn't hurt any longer! How can I help him realize he can now put weight on it without pain?? (He went to vet for the first time, he's an outdoor 'stray', had x-rays, good visual exam, no obvious injury, received penicillan and ammoxicillan, 2 days ago and I would've thought he'd be at the point now where he'd at least try to put weight on it! But nothing yet - other than a much happier and healthier cat!!) Any ideas on how to get him to "forget" about his foot? I did notice, too, that he is now licking his foot so perhaps it is still healing and the licking is a sign that maybe it's feeling better? Not that I want to, but I have to get him back outside with his brother and half-brothers. He does have a nice warm house with lots of straw and protection from the cold! Any help? THANKS!

Our cat of 8 years of age was briefly sick with a skin irritation and we took her in and everything checked out ok - until they took an X-Ray. It showed a mass on her lung.

We were immediately concerned and we took her in for blood test and needle biopsy and it came back as "probably carcinoma". We then decided to follow the doctors' advice and do a CT scan and they said there are too many areas on the lung - so surgery is not recommended. They want to do chemotherapy. Apparently the pain and trauma after surgery of that extent could be very very discomforting for the cat.

We are cat lovers and we can do whatever it takes to make her better. But we feel that this is a terminal disease and maybe we should let her live her last few months of life without pain and suffering from testing, surgery and/or chemotherapy.

We are beginning to believe that the doctors are after money, and are using our love for our beloved pet as leverage to get money out of us...

I have a six day old kitten who was abandoned by his mother and has been thusforth raised by me. He has responded well -- Healthy weight, healthy appetite, facilities work well, well hydrated, active and very vocal. Lastnight I went to get a soda, came back and he was suffering from labored breathing, audible congestion in his chest and he's been sneezing up a clear fluid. He breathes through his mouth and still has a healthy appetite (He takes short drinks before stopping to breathe). His facilities still work, and he's still active. I have tried placing *tiny* drops of 4-way nasal decongestant near his nasal passages via a q-tip. Is there anything I can do to help ease his pain and/or ease his congestion?

I have bought several brands of "premium" cat litter for my Purrforma Plus automatic litter box, and every one clings to the rake. It;s more of a hassel to clean the rake than to have a regular litter box! Can anyone tell me if they've found a brand of litter that really works in one of these? THANKS!

I have asked many useless questions on here, but this is one of few useful questions.

Please help me with my rotund 8 year old neutered male tabby. At last weigh-in, he came in at a whopping 33 lbs. I've put him on high quality dry food diet. No canned food anymore and no treats. I feed him the daily reccommended amount of 2/3 cup, but he's not active enough to burn off any calories.

He developed asthma a few years ago wich is under control for the most part with medication. Running or playing sometimes results in an asthma attack. I think this is the reason he has lost interest in playing.

I want to use a feeding ball but he doesn't seem to be able to figure out how to use it. I'll bat at it to show him how to get the food out, but he just looks up at me with those big green eyes like he's saying, "When are you going to stop playing with that stupid ball and put my food in the dish?"

Does anyone out there have any other ideas? What else could I try to get him to move a little? Thanks.

Sorry, I know the last question wasn't very specific. I just want to know if there's anything special I should do to make her more comfortable...should she have special food? should she eat more than she used to? Hmm...thanks for all your answers!:)
