I have bought several brands of "premium" cat litter for my Purrforma Plus automatic litter box, and every one clings to the rake. It;s more of a hassel to clean the rake than to have a regular litter box! Can anyone tell me if they've found a brand of litter that really works in one of these? THANKS!

Ive had a Litter Maid for years...........I found out that Tidy Cat was the worst for it, it always stuck to the rakes......The best litters I found are Fresh Step Scoop or Scoop Away. Had no problems with those two, works great!

My kitty has been using her self cleaning litter box for about two years now and we both love it. Any major brand that says the word "clumping" is what you want. This will give you the desired effect and let the machine clean as it is intended to do. Then if you will empty the tray every few days you cat will be happy too! Good luck!

Those things are such a pain. I had one for a year, and couldn't find a litter that didn't stick to the rake. I finally gave the box to a friend, and went back to my regular litter box.
Good luck...

Honestly, I had a Litter Maid and a PurrForma ... I had the same problem with both and tried a million different litters. My solution? Better litter box - try the Litter-Robot, see link below:

we've had 2 distinct ones - the muddle Maid and the PetSmart Purrforma. I loved the PetSmart one extra useful. The LitterMaid's comb appeared to get packed with truly clumped muddle fairly commonly. also, the twine/twine snapped two times so as that it grew to develop into stuck. I had 2 cats when we were given this one and each and every person used it with out situation. The PetSmart one became extra useful, cleanser and the muddle clumps were dumped right into a plastic bag, truly of a plastic field like the muddle maid. I used established plastic grocery bags. My purely situation is that truly one of my (now) 3 cats determined he did not like it and does no longer use it. So it really is placed away for the time even as he's no longer with us. We now use a mortar blending pan as a muddle field which I scoop each day.

I use Tidy Cat Small Spaces. It clumps well and keeps the smell away. I have tried a lot of different litters and this in my opinion is the best.

Honestly, a automatic litter box and more trouble then it is worth. They will all stick. It is better to just have an old fashion one that you have to scoop out.
