Cats can have both colds and allergies. Allergies maniefest, most often, in animals, as skin problems. Active sneezing can be a sign of a common cat virus that will run its course in about two weeks, with or without medication. Antibiotics don't work on viruses, but it makes the owners feel better to feel they are doing something proactive to make kitty feel better.
If, with the sneezing, your cat gets runny eyes, nose, starts drooling, or refuses to eat or drink, it means get to the vet immediately. The viral infection can cause a bacterial infection due to the inflammation they cause in the nasal and throat passages. Hope you find this helpful.

it could be something innocent such as fluff up the nose and needs to be removed. the bodies natural defense is to sneeze. but sneezing could also be a sign of;
Cat Flu (Feline Infectious Respiratory Disease). It rarely causes death in healthy adult cats but it can be fatal in kittens, old cats and cats which are already ill. There are 2 main viruses involved in cat flu. The kitten or cat may be infected with just one or both of these. They are spread by direct contact between cats and sneezing. The symptoms of cat flu are runny eyes and nose, sneezing, high temperature, conjunctivitis, salivation, mouth ulcers, occasional coughing or even pneumonia. The mouth ulcers can make the cat reluctant to eat and this can cause further complications. Cats that recover from cat flu may become carriers of the virus and can transmit the disease to other cats for many years. If this 'carrier' cat is stressed, this can be by moving house or other activities which are out of the ordinary, it may show signs of cat flu, this being a runny nose and most commonly by sneezing.
ring the vet to see if a consultation/check up is required. no point in risking it.

Yes, cats can get colds, and a lot have allergies. It's not much to worry about, but if the sneezing persists for a few days, you may want to get him checked by a vet.

Cats can get colds and can also have allergies. You should take your cat to the vet, excessive sneezing is also a sign of feline leukemia.

Are you using a deodeorising litter? The chemicals that this type of litter contains can cause the cat to sneeze or become allergic. If so, i recommend you buy normal litter and use a deodeorising litter cone that sits in the centre of the litter which provides effictive protection against odeor and wont irratate the kitten.

Is the mucus clear or green? Clear is usually allergies and green means there is an infection in there.
