Sorry, I know the last question wasn't very specific. I just want to know if there's anything special I should do to make her more comfortable...should she have special food? should she eat more than she used to? Hmm...thanks for all your answers!:)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to feed her a kitten formula food. Not the liquid stuff, but the food that is made for kittens. It has extra vitamins, proteins, all kinds of stuff your cat will need right now. Remember, she is not just maintaining herself, she is growing kittens.

Look around your house for a nice quiet corner. She is goingto pick the least visited and most sheltered place she can find to have those kittens. Even if you put them in another place after they are born, she will move them to the place she wants. Set her up now. Maybe a nice large cardboard box on its side with some bedding in it. Let her discover it. Pretend you don't even know it is there. It might trick her into thinking it is a special place that she has found. If she goes in there, do not visit her. Let her think it is her special spot.

Apart from a good diet, giving her access to a very private place where noone goes, and giving her lots of love, there isn't much you can do, except let nature take its course. In the end, depending on the level of bonding you have developed, she might even want you in attendance at the birthing. Just be open to the hints she tries to give you.

Edit: LOL, seems there were a lot of people with similar ideas typing at the same time. Lots of answers, really quick.

Preganant cats should sometimes be feed kitten food because it has much more nutrients than regular food. If it's almost time for her to have kittens, you should set up a box in an area that is not drafty. Line a box with newspapers on one side, one the other side, place a heating pad( set on a low setting) and place a towel over it. This give the kiitens a place to be warm after they have been born, while the mother delivers the rest. After they are all born you can take out the haeting pad. Once the 1st kitten is born, the rest sould be out within an hour. If not, or the cat is panting, contact your vet. Congats! GOOD LUCK!

Make sure she has a quiet, secure place with comfortable bedding, like a small closet. She may decide to make her own nesting area, so watch her closely to see if she has a new hiding place. Most cats have all the vitamins & nutrients they need in a good cat food. Just fill a bowl and she'll eat what she needs. Also, be sure to give her fresh water every day. You can call a local feline vetranarian and they'll be happy to give you free advice over the phone. And don't worry, she'll find you when it's time and if you not there when it happens, she'll know what to do. Congratulations!

Pregnancy in the cat (gestation period) lasts for 57-63 days. We would advise worming your cat with 'drontal' every two weeks from the final third of pregnancy until weaning of the kittens.
Pregnant cats do need a bit of special care, although not much. Make sure to keep her indoors and in a clean, safe environment at all times. If she is an outdoor cat and must be outdoors it is imparative that she at least remain indoors for the last 2 weeks of her pregnancy. This is for her protection as well as her kitten's protection. Also switch her food to a special diet for pregnant cats. Consult your vet for what brands and types of foods will be best for her. Make sure her litterbox is always clean to avoid the spread of infection; also you may want to switch to a 'shorter' litterbox as her belly starts to grow. This will help her get into and out of the box. And lastly you will want to prepare a 'maternity bed' for her.
The maternity bed is meant to be where she will give birth. If she doesn't have a maternity bed she will find another suitable place which could be your closet. So it is best to try to get her accustomed and comfortable with this special bed. You can create a maternity bed out of a cardboard box which is at least 2 X 3 feet wide and about 1 1/2 feet high. Also you will want the box to have a top to it (this will help keep warmth in for the kittens and keep it dark and quiet). Cut a hole in one side of it that is large enough for mom to crawl in and out of. Place a few inches of shredded newspaper in the bottom of the box and then cover that with a blanket or old shirt that your cat is comfortable with. Make sure to place the box in a warm and quiet place.

Alot of people actually start feeding pregnant cats kitten food(because it's apperenty more high in fat and protien). So if you really want why not go to wal-mart and see if they have a high quality kitten food? Also maybe for some extra protien and fat feed her fancy feast in a can every once in a while during and after pregnancy?

other than that give her a dark, warm and quite place in your house for her to have the kittens, like the closet. Have it already set up, so that she is used to it, and see if she likes it.

When she has the kittens DO NOT over bother the mother or else she will hide them somewhere in the house where you may not find them.

When my cat was going to have kittens, we got her on dry kitten food. We also made a nest for her in a box. Give her clean rags and newspaper and but put it in the box, she will make it suitable to her own needs. Pregnant cats also need to gain weight and eat more. Remember she's eating for both the kittens and herself. Good luck with the birth. Its an exciting occasion.

the first muddle is often small, perhaps 2-4kittens. I absolutely have had numerous cats through the years and that is my journey that they have got 3 or 4 they first time. Litters change into appreciably more desirable after this. The very last cat i had that had kittens which change into numerous years in the past now had 3 kittens or perhaps if she had them contained in the living house and they were actual pampered and the mummy change into stunning and intensely attentive, one died. Runts are regrettably very immediately ahead.. reliable luck with yours, kittens are purely amazing!

Well make her a special bed, maybe out of a cardboard box or a big pile of blankets,at night let her sleep near or close to you. Maybe feed her wet cat food. If she has a special kind of food she likes spoil her and give it to her. You should let her eat about 1/3 more than she usually would. Remember spoil her as much as you can and give her lots of attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the love of God, get her spayed. There are thousands of cats that are euthanized every day in every state simply because there are NOT ENOUGH HOMES FOR THEM ALL. If you cannot afford to have her spayed at a local low cost spay/neuter clinic, look on www.petfinder.com under Shelters and Rescue groups and call one of the rescue groups in your area. They will help you get her fixed. There is no need to bring another litter into this already overpopulated world.

Don't brred her again and have her spayed. Have you checked your local shelter? They are probably full and most of the cats there will be put to sleep. You want to help, spay your mother cat and each of the kittens. I love cats, don't you?
