I got a cat on Thursday and she seems very loving. The concern I have is that she has eaten about 3 of the small cans of Friskies wet cat food over the last 2 days and hasnt had a bowel movement. She is pretty lethargic and sleeps alot, and her belly stays distended. I dont know if these "symptoms" mean that she is just still adjusting to her new home or if she has a medical problem. She is very vocal and loving, but doesnt move around or play very much as you would expect of a kitten. Is this normal of a new cat in a new environment or am I just being paranoid? Thanks in advance.

Our daughter is living with us and I let our daughter sleep in my room, and my cat started peeing in
my room...she is 4 years old and she never does that with me. Whenever, I went to my bed to sleep, I would call my cat, Kojak, and she would come to my room and sleep at the bottom of my bed after kneading me with her paws and would not pee in my room [even though she would sleep all night with me with the bedroom door shut]. I think my cat senses my daughter's crazy attitude with me and she misses sleeping with me in my room [now I sleep on the living room couch] so I think that my cat is marking her's and my territory in my room against my daughter.
So my daughter got mad and [I won't say how] hurt my cat...I grabbed my cat and took her out of my room, but my cat was not going to put up with my daughter hurting her, so she went back into my room after my daughter and swatted at her feet...any opinions would be appreciated.

I have a 5 month old cat. I live in Minnesota so it is cold right now like 3 degrees. Is it bad for kitten to go outside? And for how long.

OK..I have these three rather restless and high strung cats. I heard somewhere that mixing a little vodka in with their milk will help them sleep better. At first, I thought this set of instructions was for ME to drink vodka with my milk...and it tasted mighty peculiar, but strangely, it did help me sleep. Anyway...cats and vodka....A good mix?

About a month ago we got frontline for our 2 cats. The frontline worked, but my cat hasn't stopped digging at his fur. He has huge bald spots all over his body, and scabs as well. I'm at a loss as to why he is ripping his fur out. He also sits in the window all day and night, pressed against the glass. I thought at first the the frontline hadn't worked, but my other cat has stopped scratching and I haven't noticed any fleas. Could this be stress related, or something worse?

Probably poor phrasing but my cat LOVES my husband, which is nice because I never thought hed love anyone he's kind of a loner and a little mean at times, but every morning when my husband leaves for about half an hour my cat cries and makes this wailing sound. Is this something I should live with or will it go away in time do you think? We've only been married 6 months so I was thinking maybe he'd get use to him leaving/

He's sick right now, but is looking/acting a lot better now that he's gotten an IV injection from the vet (he's be given some antibiotics too but they probably haven't kicked in yet - we just got home).

From reading various sources it looks like he might be able to make an essentially full recovery from this one episode and be able to live fairly normally?

(He's an indoor cat; once upon a time he was a stray, which is where he must've picked it up. We do have other cats, but they don't fight at all, so we're not too too worried about them becoming +)

What are improovments youve seen in your cat. My friends says her cats don't get hairballs anymore, and her older cat doesn't need his arthritis tablets anymore. What have you noticed in your raw fed cat?

Hi,
After much deliberation my mother has finally given in to the idea and is happy with me getting a little kitty (yay)
Anyway, i've never had a cat before. The only animal i've ever had have been fish!

I just need abit of advice about kittens and things.
How much does it cost to have them spayed/neautured?
Also the extras such as bed, food, toys etc
(i live in the UK!)

Also, how often should i feed him/her etc.
I'm probably going to keep him/her as a housecat but i want to take him/her outside every now and again just to the garden so is their a certain age i should wait before introducing them to the garden?

Any other advice would be great!
sorry if i sound like i don't know much but i thought i best get all the info before i get my kitty!
i'm getting him/her from a rescue center aswell, so don't worry!

Thanks.

Clare is usually a very playful and active cat, but recently I've noticed she is a bit more lethargic than usual and seems to be loosing weight. I'm wondering if all this is connected and would like to know (1) what it is and (2) what to do about it. I would prefer home remedies as I live in China at the moment and veterinary services are ... limited. However, we do have a very friendly vet who is open to suggestions from other vets. Thanks in advance for those of you who offer helpful advice.

ill be walking through the living room and my cat will just take off running from across the room, fly into the air with his claws out and bite my leg. One minute he loves it when i pet him but then he bites me super hard, sometimes even draws blood. when he plays he always get really defensive, like his hair will be standing up and ears pinned back and then he tries to attack. My boyfriend has a 1 year old little girl that loves my cat, he knows better that to bite her but when she pulls his tail or steps on his feet he kinda looks over at me and cries. why is he so easy with her and not the hand that feeds him? i have tried yelling, thumping the ear, putting him in time out, throwing him (no harm), spraying him with water and nothing is working. he still tries to eat me? could it be he hasn't been clipped yet?? can someone please help me? im tired of having nasty bite marks and scratches up and down my arms!!!!

Cats are indoor/outdoor. They go in and out. I'd rather not be bothered with going to the vet.

I've heard that there are feeding dishes available for cats that have a timer and a lid or cover. The dish can be set at certain intervals so that the cover opens up at various times of the day allowing your pet to eat whilst you're out or at work. Where can I get one of these dishes or did I dream them up?..... I've tried ebay but had no joy.

I Always feed my kitties before i eat. Straight after they have ate they come to me and just sit there until i give them some of my food! I usually cave in and give them a tiny bit but i never give them anything that is harmful to them. What should i do?

I probably already know the answer to this, but I want to know what can I do to keep my cat living longer?

He is about 3 years old or so, and is an indoor cat. And he is massive, probably one of the bigger domestic cats you'll see. We have another cat that is just a tad over weight according to the vet, but not much. They do play with eachother and chase eachother so there is some exercise there, and we have tried to cut their food down but I havent seen much of a difference. I'm just wondering is there more we can do.

Also, our fat cat had an infected urinary problem so he has to eat special food, and our other cat has a super sensitive stomach, so she also needs special food. =P

Any advice would be great!
