I already have 4 cats and 2 kittens.....3 neuterd males and a female (that will be spayed as soon as kittens are weaned) and 2 kittens that will also be fixed ASAP.....Here's my problem....a stray cat showed up tonignt....this is the seconed time this has happened to me since I've lived here for only 4 months....the other stray was also a male and he's now part of our family....I'm not sure what to do...it's suppose to be below freezing tonight and I just don't have the heart to leave him outside..but I really don't need another cat..So should I bring him in for the night or will he be okay outside in the cold...I know cats have fur for a reason....I just don't want to feel bad about leaving him out....right now he's laying on my couch looking at me...I have him seperated from my other cats for now...especially my female because I don't think he's been neutered....which dosen't surprise me..seems no one cares to truly take care of their animals anymore...so please give me some feedback

I spend about $10 on cat litter and about $35.00 on cat food. Mine also gets a few toys for under $10.00 a month. What products do you swear by and what have you used that was a waste of money?

Our 1.5 year old cat has recently started to jump up and try to hang on our fabric blinds.

He only seems to do it when we are around (as far as we know) - he probably knows it bothers us and he likes the attention. We spray him with water whenever he does it and then put him in a bathroom for a while as punishment.

He has a scratching post, and I don't think it is about his claws. He probably likes the attention and / or it is fun for him to hang by his claws from the shades...

Any ideas on how we can change this behavior?

What do you think? Every once in a while she will pee somewhere and repeatedy hit that spot until we do something about it. We can't really afford to take her to a vet to see if she has an infection. We recently stopped letting her go outside due to aggressive neighborhood cats causing her injuries and us vet bills. Are there any other signs of an infection? Would she be peeing in different places or just one spot?

Our cat is already overweight, so we feed him about an eighth of a can twice a day. According to the can instructions, we should be feeding him two full cans daily (11 oz) based on his weight (13 lbs). That's ridiculous and I'm wondering how they get away with it.

my cat just had a kitten last friday. We keep the house clean, and give them frontline and all that, but yesterday i noticed a flea on the new born. i know it's way to early to give her frontline. but we want to get rid of the problem..now. i feel so bad, since she cant scratch herself :[
i've been brushing her with a flea brush trying too possibly get the fleas off. but is there anything else i can do?
I've only seen one flea, so she's not infested.

We have a new baby (6 months old) in the house and all of a sudden our cat started peeing on the mattress. Not often I would say about once every month or 2...we have flipped the mattress cleaned it with spray/cat odor everything. We have always payed attention to the cat and that has not changed since the new baby. No medical problems either...we close the baby room when he is sleeping and the cat when he hears him crying comes and gets me and he is very protective so I dont think he is jealous...litter box is clean as well. Any ideas what the problem could be??? Also what really helps get rid of the cat pee smell???

My cat used to be a happy cat, she liked running around the house and stay pretty active. Recently, about two weeks ago (after we left her home alone for a weekend trip), she started getting very clingy and always want to be around my bf and me. She won't get out of our laps, and she even sleeps on our bed, when she usually doesn't. She used to always sleep on her bed. She won't be away from us, always has to be really near, and she cries quite a lot lately.

She had problems with her previous food, she puked when she woke up in the morning. Now we've changed her food, and she seems to be doing better and not puking anymore. Not that it's any relevant information, but thought I'd add it in case there is any relation.

So what do you think is wrong with her, emotional depression, or anything else? Any advice will be appreciated, thank you very much.

They're grey and white kittens, they're brothers and really hate to be apart from each other. One's got more white than the other and is more passive, and the others got more grey than the other and he's more agressive. They're both pretty rowdy. Help us name them, my parents keep thinking up lame names like... bubble & squeak... and kitt & kaboodle... >__<;;

So I just adopted an all black male cat. He's still in the kitten phase so very energetic. He needs a good name though. I want something original, nothing like blackie, blackjack, coal, etc. I also have a second cat named Chicken Wing (long story lol) so either something to go along the lines of chicken's name or something to do with the black, but original :) Thanks guys!

I have already posted a questions saying my cat is possessed. ALot of answers are telling me to get him fixed, which I did, get him a playmate which I did, he has a scratching post and he has toys, but he keeps doing what hes not alowed to do and he runs around frantic as fast as he can, jumping on and off things in seconds and scratching it do death, esspecially my brand new bed.I have been accused of being a bully for trying to diciplin him, holding him on the floor by his scruff is supossed to be what his mother did. I try to nurture him, hed rather run around nuts, and he likes to cry alot, at nothing like hes tortured, he stares at the wall and just cries. Im out of answers, he just had bloodwork which is all normal, so I did take him to the vet. I just want himto be more affectionate and calm down, I thought fixing did that? I don't know how to diciplen him, he doesn't take me serious I guess, I give him treats, I try to clip his nails too which he HATES, & reward afteter. Help?

My 2 year old cat, Ralphie, goes outside & is a hunter. He is gagging horrifically, no temp, no sign of upper resp problem, throat seems clear, blood doesn't show toxin, can't eat/drink because he gags. My vet has done xrays which showed some air in the stomach & the intestines appear to be a bit enlarged & entangling. Blood test, no toxins showing. Barium w/xray, it was extremely hard to get the cat to hold down the barium, but what he did hold down showed most of it moved through the intestines. He had a couple of severe gags on Monday evening which caught my eye, by Tuesday afternoon he stopped eating & was laying around. Took him in for a checkup, suspected a hairball, gave him a dose of CatLax, he spit up the next dose, by Wednesday I took him back to the vet. He did give him fluid and I know he did urinate today, but still has the severe gagging. The next step the vet suggests is an exploratory. I can afford it but would rather not have the cat go through it. Please help Ralph

I discovered about a week ago that my cat had a very small wound on his upper leg, (about the size of a penny). It doesn't appear to be open, or draining anything, nor does it appear to bother him, as he has continued his normal daily life. However, today, I noticed that the wound has gotten bigger (about the size of a nickel). Again, it does not appear to be be open, draining, or smelling. He will even let me touch it. He cleans it alot, which has caused the fur to not be there, but I am worried that it may be something internally. He has never had any health problems before, and he is TOTALLY an inside cat...he won't even go outside because he's scared of everything (he has lived a very sheltered life, lol)! The only other thing I can think of is maybe he got bitten by something (he loves to chase and eat bugs if they get into the house), or maybe he has just chewed at it because of an irritation. Any suggestions would be helpful before I plan a trip to the vet. Thanks so much!

I get that most of the time cat don't "need" baths as they are fastidious self groomers, but the number of people who say it's always bad or mean to do it I just don't get? Sure you should not
do it often, say only every 6w max, to protect their skin and oils,
but most people WILL need to bath a cat at some point. So if you most like will need to bathe it at some point when they roll in something icky, what's wrong with letting them get used to it early while they are kittens? Putting an adult cat in a tub for the first time will be much harder then if you got them started young. It may not be "utterly necessary", but some people posting seem to think it is totally unhealthy or dangerous, and a few seem to think it is borderline abusive? I get if you just don't want to bother with the fuss for your inside short haired cat, especially if they are grown, but do most people here think it is really a "Bad Idea Always" with the exception of flea, medical issues, or grubbyness?

So she had her babies on easter, 3 little bitties, And then we noticed her voice was gone. When she meows it comes out sometimes as loud as a loud airy noise and it is now november. Im concerned about her. they only get like a table spoon each of wet food on top of a tiny bit of dry food. I dont think they eat enough, I free feed my cat, she doesnt abuse it. I just need some advice. thank you.
