We have this cat that just showed up at our house a few weeks ago. She is extremely friendly and my husband has been feeding her. I went outside today, and she was there. Her eye has been injured. I petted her for a few seconds. She is showing no signs of rabies but my father is paranoid about it. What are the chances that I could have contracted it? I understand it is spread through saliva? What about when she cleans her fur?

My cat, Peanut, who i had for 10 years and grew up with died yesterday. I can't remember a time without her. We're not really sure how or when she died. I thought I would never have to see her in a little box all covered up or even have find a special place to lay her to rest. It's so weird not having her around.. and I can't get comfort from anything. I have three other cats but none of them are like her. I'm besides myself with sorrow and I don't know what i'm going to do without her. How did you cope with your little friend's death and find some comfort, and ideas for me? I really need it.

Please, serious answers only.

Why is it that when I scratch my cat right where his tail connects with his "butt" (for lack of a better term) he lays with his mouth open for a bit then attacts my arm? Is it because he likes it or doesn't? I am not sure either way. When he attacks my arm he will bite then licks my hand. Is this a sensitive spot for him?

I have three cats: a 14 year old neutered tom, an 8 year old neutered female and a 5 month old un-neutered tom kitten.

The puppy will be 11 weeks old and is used to playing with a kitten the same age as mine. my next door neighbour has a dog and my cats are not scared of him.

My puppy will have a crate, which she will be in when not supervised by me - she will be with me, when I am not at work (I work part time). I have a crate for the car and she will come with me when I go visiting, to see to my horses, when I go shopping; basically, when I am not at work, she will be with me.

My cats have the full run of the house, she will not be allowed upstairs at all.

Advice please on where to go from here :D

ok so there is this little black cat at my house and has been living out in the backyard for about a week now...we put some signs up to see if anybody had lost their cat and no one has called us back...we're going to take her to the vet next monday and if nobody claims her we're going to have to take her in....the problem is that we already have two 3 year old cats and i dont know how they will react to a new cat inside the house....should i bring the stray cat in and make my 2 cats adjust or is that going to be too hard and unfair to them...i think they might just fight each other all the time... do you think it is ok if i introduce a new cat to them when they are used to it only being the 2 cats...i dont know what to do =(

btw the stray cat is a girl and i have a girl and guy cat

I "rescued" a cat from a friend who was sick of her antics who neglected to tell me she was in heat. Well- that was in August. She's usually very clingy and VERY hyperactive (which I like), but lately she's been even more so- I can't get her to settle down (she runs around my apartment and howls all night, knocks things over, swats at and scratches my feet while I'm trying to sleep). She's not mean, and she's VERY clean- she's just irritating.

Any advice?

Also- how often do cats go into heat?

My cat she hardly meows but she tries it very low. It almost sounds like she trying to get the sound out. I expect her to come me and make the hungry sound if I haven't fed her. When she hears me coming down the basement she comes out trying to make her meow sound. What the problem cat lovers?.

My son just spent 3 weeks in hospital and we stayed with him the whole time so my Mum came over to feed our cat and let him out and so on. But in that time the cat got fleas and my Mum did not realise as she was coming straight to the hospital every day so the fleas have had the run of the house!!! I have now spent £70 on treatment from the vets and I am still finding live fleas and the little critters have got a taste for MY blood! How can I make myself less tasty and how do I get rid of them?

I gave my friends a kitty and hes been nothing but trouble. He keeps scratching their kids, and their furniture and shoes. After her tore up one of their shoes, they decided to declaw him. I dont want them to. I think their going to neuter him soon, if they havnt already. And I think he would probly calm down after that. Any how, Iam trying to convince them not to DECLAW him. I think its cruel. Ive heard about those little thing you pur on there nails. And I was wandering what there called? How much they cost? Where can you get them? Will the place you buy them put them on you cats nails? Or do you have to do it your self or take them to the vet? Oh and how long do they last until you have to put them on it again? Thanks so much! Please dont give dumb answers! Thanks!

my other 2 cats (both about 1 1/2 yrs old) get up & eat & use the litter box & play a few times each for every time my [fat] older (3 1/2 -4 yr old) cat does.

is he just lazy? or is it normal for them to sleep longer as they get older?

I own the cat in this picture, but I'm not keen on all the siamese "point" colors. (This cat is a Snowshoe.) I just put down lilac-point because I thought that's what it was, but I'm not 100% sure.

Um...I want a cat and I want a squirrel. And I want them both to just be cute and run around the house being adorable and nibbling and scratching on things, and pooping, and loving me, and letting me pet, and feed, and watch TV with them. Will the cat murder the squirrel?

A cat next door that looks like it's being neglected keeps coming to our door and meowing like in pain or something. Looks like it has a serious flea problem. I'd like to help but my grandmother just got rid of a flea infestation our house. The poor cat looks hungry and lonely, it seems to want affection. Could it have been abused?

I don't see why people have animals if they won't care for it. It's pretty heartbreaking.

Is there anything I can really do for the cat's sake without it coming close to our home all the time?

I have a 4 year old maine coon cat, who loves to eat! the problem is that after meals some times he throws up. im not sure if there hair balls or just food. he likes to clean himself after he eats, and hes got realy long hair! I brush his hair a few times a day so he doesnt eat it, but he still throws up! theres not a day that he doesnt at least throw up once and i worry about him. my question is, is it his hair making him throw up?
