My cat, Peanut, who i had for 10 years and grew up with died yesterday. I can't remember a time without her. We're not really sure how or when she died. I thought I would never have to see her in a little box all covered up or even have find a special place to lay her to rest. It's so weird not having her around.. and I can't get comfort from anything. I have three other cats but none of them are like her. I'm besides myself with sorrow and I don't know what i'm going to do without her. How did you cope with your little friend's death and find some comfort, and ideas for me? I really need it.
Please, serious answers only.

I feel your loss. Most of us here have been there and know that there is really nothing much to ease your pain at this moment.
Please look for a pet loss support group in your area or online. Ignore idiots that give you the "It was just a cat" look. It wasn't just a cat to you and you have the right to feel the way that you feel. Do not let anyone rush you into getting over it. Heal at your own pace and in your own way. I am sure that most of us here are here for you should you want to talk with us.
Sorry for your loss...

I'm so sorry for your loss. The cats we grow up with are very special indeed. there's nothing that will make the pain go away - she was too close to your heart for that - but these things may help you heal.
- Talk about her. Tell (and write down) your favorite stories - when you got her, how she got her name, her favorite games, etc.
- Create a scrapbook with your favorite pictures and stories.
- Create some kind of memorial place. some people have a little garden spot. other people dedicate part of a bookshelf to their pet's memory with pictures, their collar, etc.
- This may sound a little weird, but it really helps. Write a letter to Peanut, telling her what you miss, thanking her for what she gave you. It can be really hard to do, but a lot of people feel better afterwards.

Aww, I am so sorry for your loss.
there realy isnt anything you can do to lessen the pain you feel.
Time is the answer - it heals all wounds.
Think about the possative things that Peanut brought to your life. If you have a picture of him/her - take it and have it enlarged and frame it.
I too lost a best friend ,and it was very painful. I still miss her. I didnt have any other pets at the time of my loss and it took me many years before I finaly got another cat .

I recently lost my cat Emerald to cancer. It wasnt easy.. but time really does heal the wounds..
The sad thing about cats, is they are designed not to last your life time. So you know that you will have to go through their parting. In time, you will be able to focus on the positive aspects of having her around, all the good memories, and the pain will lessen.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I just lost my 17 y.o. (ok, in August) and I still miss her awful. She always slept on my head. She always pawed at the pantry door when she wanted a can. I had her cremated and have her ashes on my mantle, with one of the sympathy cards I got on top of the box. She was so special. But I know she had a good life and I will always love her memories. In time, you will be able to accept your loss, and realize it is just something that happens in life. Best wishes to you-

So sorry for your loss, please accept my condolences. Losing a beloved family member is never easy. Only the passing of time will help heal your pain. It may help to find something positive to do, make a donation at the shelter in her name, volunteer to help at a shelter, humane society, or animal rescue. Keeping busy is the best prescription I know. Know too that she had you and a good life. My prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for your loss.I have lost a few kitties in the past and yes, they are your best friend.I can remember back in 2000,when my "Boogers"kitty got hit by a car,It hurt so bad.A couple of years later,i needed to move from there, and it nearly killed me knowing my kitty was buried there and I was leaving him.I still think of him,but the pain will ease, just give it time,Take care of the kittys you have left. They need your love now, too.Good luck.
