And for you, how many are too many, and how many are enough?

My cat bites ME. No one else in the family gets nearly the biting attention that I do. My forearms are covered with healing scratches and bites.

She's 7 months old and her name is Luna. She gets crazy sometimes and runs all over the house skitzing herself (nothing's really happening, but something's chasing her in her imagination).

She's cute as a bug, but she won't let me cut her nails. I know she's wanting me to play with her--she loves wrestling on the floor with a willing foe. The other cat doesn't like her much but she loves to get too close so the other cat will chase her. The other cat is angry, but Luna's having a ball because someone's chasing her.

To this point, the only thing I've found that worked for her is distraction. Grab a pencil or a straw or ANYTHING and let her bite it instead. She's getting the old snip snip tomorrow.

When she attacks me out of nowhere what do I do?

Afternoon!!

My partner and I have just moved into a two bed flat. We are looking to get a kitten. I want to get two but he says they will fight as there is not enough space, and also we have to think about the extra costs involved...

Is it really bad if we just get the one cat?? as I've been told its best to get two...

Will all the people who have one cat please put my mind at rest and tell me one cat is fine?

The male seems extremetly docile and is normally very well behaved. We bought the female as a companion for the male about 5 weeks ago and thought he would love her company.

We were very wrong! He wants to bite her and gets agitated every time he sees her... we keep them separated out of fear he will seriously hurt or kill her.

He does seem to like to play footsies with her under the door, but after 5 weeks he still doesn't seem to be any more accepting of her when we try to put them in the same room together; he wants to attack! He weighs 16 lbs and she is only 4 lbs.

Will time solve this? I sure hope something will as we love them both.

Help!

I just wanted to know what you guys know about this because there is a feral cat in my area.
How do feral cats survive in the wild? Where do they get their food and water? Where do they find shelter in the winter? And what is your advice as to how to care for them (i.e. should I be feeding it?)
Thanks!

We live in the UK and we have a problem with cat fleas we have tried bob martins stuff (powder and spray) and the spot on stuff that you put on the back of your cats neck. He also has a flea collar but we are still being attacked by fleas apart from getting rid of the cat (only joking I would not get rid of him) what other product could people recommend please. Thanks for any help.

How do you determine how many is TOO many??
My mother in law lives in a mobile home (3 bedroom, 2 bathroom) with her husband, and 2 others. She owns 5 cats, and takes care of at least one neighborhood cat (so technically 6, but one she doesn't own). Her cats are all indoor/outdoor cats, so many of them do not act domesticated, and instead they act like wild animals. She loves her cats though, and takes good care of them. She is unemployed, and spends every penny of her inheritance (a small amount) on spoiling them with canned cat food and milk. The fleas that are taking over her house don't seem to bother her. She always has excuses. I know that she probably has some kind of mental condition, and she seems to think that most people say that 5 cats in a small home is normal. They rip up curtains, carpet, screens...etc. Also, their house often smells like a kennel! I personally think it's disgusting. What is your opinion?

I will pour them onto the floor outside and she will eat around or only from one side so that what is left looks very neat. My other cat just eats wherever. This has only started recently. She was a stray but has been here for at least six months now. I have noticed this for the past week or so. I now know which pile she ate from. Is this the start of OCD?

A couple of weeks ago I found two kittens in the road outside my apartment, so I brought them in. I was wanting to get rid of them right off because I can't afford anymore animals ( I already have 2 cats). The animal shelter can't take them until the 13th. Both of the kittens have worms and a bad case of fleas, and now they are vomiting and have the runs. I'm really scared they are going to get my cats sick, but I don't want to throw the kittens out the door or anything like that, but I don't want my cats to get sick or get worms. What should I do??

I got a 9 week old rescue kitten on Thurs. night, I took her directly to the vet due to fleas. She got her first booster and the 1st dose of revolution for her fleas. On Friday, after being very lethagic and not eating or drinking, I took her back to the vet -- the vet confirmed that she has a parasite (coccidia) and prescribed antiobiotics.

She has had the antibiotics for 4 days now .. yesterday she seemed to be getting better, but tonight she threw up again and she is going to the bathroom outside of litterbox (this is a new thing). She has not been playful at all .. she holds the attention of a fish on a string moving, but doesn't really swat at it. She likes to be held and petted and to

She did not eat well again today (we forced some HILLS presceibed soft food - not sure if we did enough) but is drinking a bit (not as much as I am thinking she should have).

she meowed alot tonight, is she hungry? Should I wait a couple of more days to see if the med's carry her through?

IWe are 4 cats in the family, I am the boss. My female human cat-slave will insist on giving the other cats tuna to eat and cream to drink , not all the time, but too often than I think is good for them. And being young, they still don't know what is good for them, not that everyone doesn't deserve an occasional treat [ mine are mouses and chickens].. Well, I'd love to hear what you think!
Loving purrs to you all!

My kitten Willie escaped and was gone all night. Allie (my avatar) missed him and cried and hunted him-they've been together since 5 weeks old. They always play with straws so she got one in her mouth and was running through the house meowing for him to come chase her. It was so sad and sweet! She was really happy the next morning when he came home! Has your cat done that before?

How do you feel about de-clawing a cat?
My dad said it's like cutting you finger nails, only it's a cat's nail. But alot of people I know including one of my old neighboors say it is very mean to do that to your cat. Someone else told me it is like rmoving the first knuckle off of your finger.

What does de-clawing really do?

I have a 4-year-old cat who is usually active, i.e. jumping on the fridge and table, running towards to the screen door to get a "taste"of the outdoors. However, for the past week-and-a-half, he's been acting much lazier than usual. He has resorted to sleeping or laying down for most of the day. He does not meow as much either. This has never happened before.

What could be bothering him? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My cat is not your average everyday ordinary cat. He is very smart but I need to get him to take his medication. I have tried cutting it up and sticking it betwen pieces of his favorite cat food. He ate everything except for the parts with the pill pieces inside. I have also tried pounding it into a powder and lacing his food with it. He took a sniff and walked away. I do not want to force it down his throat. He HATES it when he feels trapped at all and will fight. Does anyone have any suggestions? The pill is about the size of an asprin.

My kitten is obsessed with straws. I give her a few and she plays with them then jumps up on top of the fridge where I keep the bag of straws and gets a few more out. She just drops them to the floor. There are 9 straws in the floor right now! It's really cute but weird that she's not happy with just a couple or that she doesn't just knock the whole bag down! Aren't cats adorable!
