My kitty Simba has been sneezing for a few days. Yesterday I noticed that she had a runny nose and today, her eyes are draining quite a bit. She isn't as energetic as usual and seems uninterested in doing things she usually loves to do. Could she have a kitty cold? I think she has an appointment for shots in one or two weeks but should I move up the appointment and get her into a vet? She seems miserable! How can I make her more comfortable?

Thanks :)

I know worlds best cat litter is but I don't like that one very much. What are other septic safe kitty litters. I think Shweat is but is it good? I didn't like worlds best because it left my kittys with yellow paws and it got all over the house. I also didn't care much for the smell. Let me know.

My boyfriend and I bombed our apartment this past weekend because we had a SERIOUS flea problem. I washed my cat in some very strong flea shampoo before we left, and washed her again just to be sure when we got back (it works really well, judging by all the dead fleas in the tub when I get done). I even washed all of our clothes before we set off the bombs. I also sprayed the carpet with Raid for fleas and vacuumed twice when we got back.

But for some reason we STILL have fleas! My boyfriend is threatening to get rid of the cat, but I really don't want to do that as I practically think of her as my child (he doesn't have the kind of relationship with her that I do as he's the disciplinarian).

On a side note: our cat isn't the reason we have fleas. We dog-sat a friend's mom's pomeranian who swore up and down she didn't have fleas. Hmph.... It's funny the fleas didn't show up until we dog-sat.

What can we do?!?

I have tried felidae and innova evo, but both are giving her a rash around her neck. I was giving her canned felidae and she got really really sick. So, now she has raw food. I have cut out her treats and the vet told me dried chicken should be fine as a treat. But I need a dry food also because the raw is too expensive as the only food. So, what dry food is good for cats with allergies? What ingredients is she most likely allergic too so that I can avoid them?

Okay, I'm probably going to kick myself for asking this, but ever since I got my cat from the shelter last year, he likes to have attention on his rear end. What I mean exactly is that he'll come up on your lap and you pet him then he'll turn around and stick his butt in your face like he wants you to pet his butt! At night he'll come in the bedroom to wake me up and he'll come up to me and sit on my head or stick his butt up to my face. it's getting a little rediculous but I have no idea why he's doing this. he loves the back of his hind legs rubbed and not his "butt" rubbed (well I wouldn't know because I don't touch his butt) but he likes his upper hind legs and buttcheeks rubbed. lol. I feel so dumb but I don't know why he acts like this. He's a very lovable cat and he's been to the vet and I never asked why he could be doing this. It irritates my husband when he's laying down watching tv and the cat gets up to put his butt in my husbands face. Please no rude or perverted comments

I have been giving my cat half dry Purina One mixed with half dry Innova for cats, and a little bit of canned friskies. I want to switch to a mostly canned food diet for her since I now know canned is better for cats. What is the best cat canned food? She's a perfect weight and a little under 2 years old. Thank you very much.

What can i do to make my cat more affectionate towards me? he is 6 1/2 months old and neutered. I've had him for 3 1/2 months now and i wanted a cat to watch tv with, pet, and hold and its not happening and it is frustrating. when i go to pet him and he is standing up, he will lower his bottom so the my had slides off of him and he walks away! If he is laying down and awake and i go to pet him, he will get up and move not far away and then lay back down and licks the exact spot i petted him on. As if to say "im washing your touch off of me"!! I don't know what this means but every time i call his name his tail flops/moves...is he aggravated that I'm even calling him??? I really can't belive it. I call anyone elses name..tail relaxed. Call his name..it moves fast. It makes me so mad and it hurts. I got this kitten because i was depressed and he's acting like this? That sure doesn't help me at all.

Anyway...what can i do? I've never been a cat owner before so this is all new to me.

hey, my kitten is 8 weeks old and ive had her for 1 week, she came with fleas but as her age was 7 weeks at the time i have been using a flea comb on her rather than spot on stuff, her third eye lid has just started showing and weve noticed its when she seems sleepy, but shes always a sleep!!! she will not drink water and was on a dry food when she came so ive changed it to a wet food/mix so i know shes gettin some fluid, she will drink a little kitten milk but not much. She doesnt seem ill, and plays in the little time she is awake. Also when she eats she cant seem to stop hiccuping and i wonder if this is anything to do with it? Ive booked her in the vets for saturday but in the mean time thought there may be a few suggestions for her in the mean time. ive been told when there third eyelid shows it means almost definately they are ill. but i dont know what to look for/how to help in the mean time. Please help if you can, it will be appreciated by both me and Elsie - the kitten.

so i've called the vet, and they told me to give my cat rice and chicken again ... the rice and chicken didn't help before i doubt it will now. i woke up this morning to cat crap everywhere, and it's honestly stressing me out ( i know that's lame but i can't take it much longer lol ) she's a long haired cat so she keeps crapping on herself and then sitting different places :[ anyway i was wondering if i should call the vet back, she's had diarrhea for about a week again now, going on 2 weeks, but she still acts like a kitten, playing around ..fully energetic, the only thing thought is that she doesn't have her shots, could that be making her have diarrhea? i don't know that else it could be!
help asap!!!!!

I went on a date last night and he said if he ever moved in with me my indoor cat would become an outside cat. Because he had an outside cat growing up. We had an argument I said my cat has been indoors for 7 years I would never let her go out now. So what do you think I never see him again?

I keep getting so many different answers. I have 4 cats, the new kitten had fleas that I did not see when I got her. I need a good flea medicine for them and one that will also help get rid of them in my home. Do Flea Bombs work? I've also heard of using Boric Acid and Salt sprinkled on carpets, couch...etc. HELP.

I think my cat has a tick, but I'm not sure. She's an indoor cat, and she did have fleas, but now I've found something on/just above her vulva that looks like a flea, but it looks like it's tangled in her fur, and didn't move when i touched it with a pencil. The reasona I think it might be a tick is because it's positioned with it's hed down, sticking right out of her fur, and doesn't move, but it isn't grey, it's a reddish brown, it isn't really bigger than a flea, and I can't find anymore anywhere on her.

I try to be really gentile and loving and when he cries I try my best to make him feel better, I get on the floor with him and try to play, Im not sure what Im doing wrong or what to do, I want him to come up to me on his own, he only comes up to me and is affectionate when Im on the toilet...whats that about?????

i have two cats which we try to keep indoors. one of them sneaks out occasionally, and so both of them recently ended up getting fleas.

we took the cats to the vet, treated them with advantage, and bathed them in dawn. we also got a spray from the vet to spray all over the house to kill any fleas, larvae, or eggs that may have gotten in the carpet or furniture.

this was two weeks ago and we are still finding fleas on the cats and larvae where the cats lay. granted, it has gotten better but how are we supposed to rid of them completely??

My kittens (4 mos) have both gotten fleas somehow. We have ordered advantage but it won't be here for a week. We've tried flea killing carpet powder but i don't think it's working. We're putting baking soda down on the carpet now...will that do anything , obviously we will be vacuuming it up. Is there anything we can use for carpet/furniture that is not a flea bomb..we live in apartment up at school so we can't really take them out for a day or whatever. Please help! Thank you!!

whenever we scratch her she licks herself, and the hair on her back is thin. when your scratching her you can feel your nails go over a small probably 3 cm bump. when i move the hair out of the way theres a red scab. sometimes more then one in the same area. she also seems like she has dandruff , that may just be from us scratching the dead skin off of her. a few times i HAVE seen one or two small RED bugs. i wasnt sure if fleas were red. but we got her a flea coller anyways. but i still noticed them. she never itchs herself though, they just apear. shes about 12 years old.
what is it exactly?
what can i do about it? (my mom wont take her to the vets until may when our next appointment is scheduled)
