type in a search for cat names. You can specify if you are going for a certain type like magical, or greek, or common, etc. There are a number of sites out there and many of them give suggestions based on personality or looks and include definitions (just like baby name books). I have found many suitable names for mine this way (my favorite is celtic cat names). Mythology is also a great place for pet names, try greek and roman gods or egyptian gods. I personally have a black cat named Anubis (protector of the dead). Good luck, and remember that you have to call him by his name and he has to live with it.

take some time and get to know the cat and maybe will come to you. personality is everything, you don't need to name the kitty right away. but for some reason the name "poncho" is popping into my mind. lol

Well, the love of my life, that was stolen from me was named "Ozzie", so I'm partial to that one. You might also consider:
Bernie
Gizmo (Gizzy)
Elmo
Cosmo
Izzy
Dingy
Einstein
Georgie
. . .or the not very original: Tom
Good luck in picking a name for this guy. And, if all else fails--"Kitty" always works.
