I know worlds best cat litter is but I don't like that one very much. What are other septic safe kitty litters. I think Shweat is but is it good? I didn't like worlds best because it left my kittys with yellow paws and it got all over the house. I also didn't care much for the smell. Let me know.

Using a litter liner helps a lot, but do toss it into the trash.

I think the best approach is not to dispose of cat litter in the septic system at all - they are just too sensitive. I use a silicone based litter and dispose in the trash. I don't like the wheat hull based litters - they tend to track and my cat does not like them. I also think they would take a long time to break down in the septic system, even if they are supposedly safe.

I just line an empty litter bucket-like a big tidy cat's one and place the scoopings in there and then throw away the trash bag each day- it keeps the odor down, the septic system unclogged and my kitties-all four of them--happy

I would use Swheat if my cats would. My daughter has used it for years with her 5 cats and Says it is wonderful. less tracking mess etc. I tried it and give her the bag because my cats both refused to use the pan I put Swheat in. I started with mixing some in the original litter like changing to a new food and they still won't use it. I put my collections in an emptied food bag and put in the trash because it clogs the sewer system.

Don't put litter down the drain! Just throw it away in the trash.
