the kitty loves you. That's why he jumps on you and massages you with his paws. If he was just using you for food he would sit on your face when you are asleep and then raid the fridge when you were dead.

That is a very good question. And unfortunetly for the sentimental people here cat don't love you. They are basicly using you to feel good.

Cats do things that profit them and only them. They never do something because you like it or because they understand you. If they do something it is because they gets something out of it.

"It's not true, my cats come and see me when I'm sad or ill and I can see that he is worry because his behavior changes". - Well sorry to tell you that it is not the case. The change in the behavior is simply a reaction to the fact that you probably changed their routine by the way you feel. When most people are sick or very sad they will not do what they normally do in the house. Their behavior will not be the same as they will cry or stay in bed. Well you just destroyed the routine of your cat and he don't likes it. If he's coming at you it is because he wants to know why the routine changes and he wants it back. So basicly, your cat is coming at you not to make you feel better but to make them feel better.

As for the way cats greets their master when they arrive at night....well normally people feed their cats when they get home or they pet them. Cat knows that and its part of the routine. Master arriving = being pet = having food.

Study was even made with cat that had presumbly save the life of their master in a fire. The explanation was simple. The cat tried to get out of the house first but couldn't found an exit. So the only way he was able to get out was by waking up the only person he knew was able to open the door they usally go through when they want to get out.

But on the bright side, cat will identify their master as their "golden" person. The more you take care of them, the more they will know they can count on you to fullfill their needs and routines. So in a way, your cat is "loving" you because you are dependable....isn't that part of why you love your wife or husband??

Sure, he's a cat, honestly.
Now, if there were some way to make him comprehend that he is, in comparison, truly one of "the lucky ones" by being indoors when it's cold outside, and being fed on a regular schedule, and being able to experience good human contact, only then could we actually say he really loved you. But, until then suffice it to say that it's normal, and comforting, to project our human emotions upon our seemingly knowing pets that we love.
Well, OK! I'm gonna sc@t now.....!

I am a cat person. I have 3 of them. Cats are so much more interesting than dogs are. Cats can sleep 18 hours a day, they do not bother you unless they want to be fed, they are reserved and kept to themselves. Dogs are like women in that they always need attention and are high maintenance, they are like men because they hump everything in sight. Cats are less needy and do not require as much work. so in answer to your question, I think the cat loves you, and it doesnt hurt that you can reach the whiskas

The experts at the University of California Davis, the top Vet school in the country claim that a cat is not capable of love as we know it but can grow to be quite fond of its owner. BTW, your cat is adorable.

He knows you are the Kibble Mistress...but he loves you anyway...I had a cat once and he used to run to meet my Dads car when he heard the engine...thats not because my Dad had kibble but beacuse he loved my Dad.

Cats loooove to suck up to you. They purr and rub their little noses against your face, like saying 'mommy I know you love me, so you better buy me really expensive food!' Haha, at least that's what it seems like when my cats do it! They have all the treats in the world, little spoiled brats they are!! =)

But I don't know, that looks like a pretty honest face to me!

Of course your kitty loves you. If he didn't he would take every chance he could to run away.
Kitties can hunt for themselves, he doesn't have to use you to get his kibble.

As long as your nice to the cat, it has no reason not to love you. Cats, are there own people...they have good days, and bad. So it not just cause you feed them, it much more then that...
