How old of a kitten does it appear to be? and how long has it not eaten for? Does the kitten appear to have any other problems?
Cats will usually eat if they are hungry unless there is something wrong, Or if they are not actually old enough to be away from their mothers they might still be nursing. which means they might need to be coxed into eating food and drinking. And that is if the kitten is old enough to attempt food... I would assume the kitten is.
Put a dab of the milk or wet food on the animal's nose... just a tiny amount so that they have to lick it off... this kind of forces them to check out the food.
Defiantly take the kitten to a vet or animal shelter to be looked at if it has not eaten by morning!! very young kittens can die from not eating a lot quicker than an older one. If there is something 24 hours in your area try calling them to see what they say. They might be able to offer you some more advice or let you know how concerned you need to be about it.
Let us know how it turns out please! and good luck!

You didn't say how old it was. It really should go to a vet, it may need some hydration. Milk is not good for kittens, it may even be too young to know how to eat.
If your finances are such that you can't get to a vet, at least go to your pet food store, or sometimes grocery will have "nursing milk", special cat milk. Get a dolly baby bottle and see if it will suck from that. Make sure you keep the kitty really warm, you can put it on a heating pad with a towel on top of it, and put it on "low" setting.
You really should see a vet to find out how old it is and if it is sick and dehydrated.

Kittens that are very young can't maintain body temperature on their own, so make sure you can monitor their body temperature or have the vet check to see if it is high enough. If not it should go in an incubator at the vet asap. If the vet says the temp is high enough, then it just needs access to a heating pad and needs to have room to get off of the heating pad if it is too hot. If you don't have a heating pad yet, hold the kitten against your body. Put a lot of rice in a sock, tie the end and microwave it as a substitute for a heating pad until you get one.
Make sure it is hydrated with kitten milk. Lightly wipe its bottom with a damp cloth to stimulate it to go to the bathroom before you feed him/her. If it is dehydrated the vet can give it an IV or shots.
Body temp and feeding are the two most important things.
Often kittens are abandoned by their mothers because they know they have something wrong with them and they won't survive. He/she may have a birth defect and it may not survive even with a vets help or it could have an illness that can be treated.
Be persistent with the vet to make sure you can figure out what is wrong, just in case it is something that can be fixed. Ask if it can be given something to help it go to the bathroom. A very young kitten with problems has a good chance of dying, so don't feel guilty if you can't figure out what is wrong. It could just be very bad genetics or disease at too young of an age.

Contrary topopular belief, cats shouldnt be given milk. Maybe it is too young yet to know how to eat? There is something you can pick up from your vet that is a very thick gel/paste that has vitamins etc. they generally will lick that. It could be also just that the kitten is more tired than hungry, does it look underweight? The kitten could just be sick with FIP or something else these poor things get when stray. As you can see it could be anything so contact your local vet tomorrow. Just keep it warm and possibly get some canned cat food to try in small amounts.

How old is the kitten? I would watch it for a few hours and see what it does. It may be really scared. Does it look really thin like it is starved or is it pretty filled out? I would go to the store, walmart will do and buy a can of kitten formula and a small bottle to feed it. It may not be old enough to eat the food if it is still drinking from its mother. If it doesn't drink from the bottle, you may want to try a syringe and squirt a teenie bit of milk in its mouth at a time and hopefully it will realize it is food and try to drink or suck it! Good luck. We found our kitten when it was a week old and I thought she would die, but she is about 6 months old now and healthy as anything!

DO NOT give a cat regulare milk! It will only serve to give the kitten diarrhea. Water and cat food are the only things that should be the only things you give a cat. Depending on the age of the kitten you can try kitten formula or kitten milk, but stay away from regular milk.
If the kitten is healthy then it will not starve, if it's not healthy they you need to take it to the vet.

Water down and mash the food so that it is the consistency of a thick soup and give that to it. It will be easier for it to consume and keep down if it hasn't eaten in awhile. Put a bowl of fresh water next to it.
Once it eats that then you can start to give it more solid food. Don't give it milk, though.
Oh, give it some warm bedding, too. You can just take some old clean clothing or rags and make a small pile of them for it to sleep on or in.
Edit: Just keep doing what you are doing, you are doing everything right and giving it the best care it can get. Right now it just needs to know that it isn't alone and someone cares about it. That will help it in its struggle to get well. I wish you and Apricot the best.
Oh, you might want to place some cat litter close by it so that it will feel its okay to go to the bathroom.

cows, and goats milk aren't really good for cats, or dogs. it probably needs a little rest. take the wet food, add some water, and mash it up good. this will feed, and rehydrate the kitten. if it is really young, it will lap up the food / water instead of biting in to it.. at first it wont eat much. depending on it's age, it will need to be fed like a newborn baby. every 3 to 4 hours. give some measurements of it's size. does it fit in the palm of your hand, the size of a 5 year olds shoe, and so on. are it's eyes fully open when it is a wake? are they blue or green? cats eyes are usually blue when small kittens, and slowly turn green as they get to be some older. you might have to go to the vet, or pet store to buy kitty formula, and a bottle for it if it is too young to lap up much food. keep it in a warm place, a laundry basket with a towel, or blanket, under your shirt, or your blankets, don't forget a cat box. look to see if it's eyes are goopy, clean them with a warm wash clothe if they are. if it wont eat tonight, take it to the vet tomorrow. call your local humane society for a low cost vet.

The kitten probably won't die of hunger. He/she could get food elsewhere, from neighbours, or even from the trash. If you've taken the kitten home, and the kitten has not been outside, remember cats are picky eaters....he/she might feel uncomfortable eating in front of humans, and like us, may 'ave feelings of loss of appetite. If the kit is losing weight, vomiting, and continually not eating/drinking, this might be due to an illness and is cause for concern.
How old is the kit by the way? The kitten may be lactose intolerant by three months of age.

If it was not eating it may not be weaned yet. you can put its nose or take your finger with the milk and put it on and in it's mouth . they get a taste of milk and they usually will want more. Kittens can skip A few hours without eating . Do you have one of those syringe things to give children cough syrup/ if you do put a small amount in the syringe and squirt a little in it's mouth this should get it's attention. If it doesn't eat do the finger feeding if nothing else. I'm glad you found the kitten. it's safe now. good luck.
