hey, my kitten is 8 weeks old and ive had her for 1 week, she came with fleas but as her age was 7 weeks at the time i have been using a flea comb on her rather than spot on stuff, her third eye lid has just started showing and weve noticed its when she seems sleepy, but shes always a sleep!!! she will not drink water and was on a dry food when she came so ive changed it to a wet food/mix so i know shes gettin some fluid, she will drink a little kitten milk but not much. She doesnt seem ill, and plays in the little time she is awake. Also when she eats she cant seem to stop hiccuping and i wonder if this is anything to do with it? Ive booked her in the vets for saturday but in the mean time thought there may be a few suggestions for her in the mean time. ive been told when there third eyelid shows it means almost definately they are ill. but i dont know what to look for/how to help in the mean time. Please help if you can, it will be appreciated by both me and Elsie - the kitten.

If it's over when she's awake and walking around it could well be a sign of illness. Cats aren't like us, we drop at the first sign of illness - they don't stop until they're really ill, its instinct. The vet will exam your kitten properly and tell you if he's ill.

There is a treatment you can use on animals under 8 weeks of age - Frontline Spray. Can be used on kittens and puppies from 2 days of age. Use this now if you're still not keen on a spot-on as she's only on the threshold.

A yr in the past, or so. my cat's 3rd eyelid confirmed plenty too. When we took him to the vet he had a scratch on it, I count on that is approximately what occurred together with your cat, both they are scratched or they are harm by some means. The purpose he could also be performing usual is cats are very dignified. They do their pleasant to not exhibit suffering or weak point. It's a well Idea to take him to the vet, they are going to mainly provide him a few drops or anything to that measure. Although I ought to provide you with a warning, my cat hated the vet after his eye seek advice from, so it will not be a comfortable enjoy for you or your cat. Anyway, I wish this is helping! Good Luck!

i would definately take her to the vet. the fact that she is sleeping so much and her third eyelid is showing would indicated that there IS something wrong with her even though she doesn't "seem" ill.

try to get fluid and food into her to help gain strength - you could try her with some human baby food (make sure it has no onion or garlic in) and try adding a small amount of water to this too (to up her fluid intake)

Mix some water in with her food, that will help increase her fluid intake, which is the cause of the dehydration you are seing.,
Dehydration is lethal with young kittens, so I eould not hesistate or ask here, I would take her straight to the vet.
