We have had (4) siamese cats over the years...and just now have a Black Bombay which has a temperment and vocal capacity similar to siamese.
We have always kept our kittys inside. Since they love to play and sometimes aggressively ...we have always had their claws removed front and back.
As you have noted...they do tend to adopt a specific human. But sometimes for different things they will take on more than one. We had a Siamese that would seek out my wife for anything to do with food and me for play. He expected my wife to message and stroke him...and he liked to cuddle and sleep with me.
I used to have a very small rod and reel (fishing). I would cast across the room and troll for the cat. Would have a small catnip mouse on the end. The cat loved to do that for hours to practice his hunting skills. The movement would lock onto something in his brain...he was powerless...he had to stalk and pounce on it.
Our male was very protective and didn't want anyone visiting the house. He would bocome very vocal until they would leave. Our cats all seemed to enjoy cat nip for a treat.
We had one cat that was very fond of the dog (a boxer) years ago. It loved to tease and torment the dog...yet would sleep with him.
Once you have a Siamese or similar breed ...you will never quite be happy with anything else....they have such personality. They make such great companions yet are independent too.

From a siamese you can expect everything. and I mean everything!I have my third blue-point male and he is full of surprises. He owns me - and only me - he is now 10 years old and still plays like a baby.Up stairs - down stairs - sometime I wonder - do I have more than one cat - and he talks - every day when I come home he greets me with a long story of what has happened outside the window during t he day. And if I do not pick him up and give him a hug - he jump on me and put his pows around my neck. And every morning he will be in the bathroom with me and my husband sitting between us on the sink, and we cannot do any morning wash before he has been groomed. And he and I sleep check to check. If it is a little cold he want to sleep under my knees - under the blanket - try to sleep with your knees bended.!! I can tell you many many more stories - everyone who own a siamese can to that - so dont be surprise - expect everything and enjoy your cat. The siamese are fabulose, fantastic, but as I said - you dont own them - they own you ! have a nice time with your little siamese girl - she will be different from all other cats!

.cats tend to admire people who don't really like them because these people leave them alone and do not make as much eye contact otherwise i don't know.my Siamese was a funny thing also she could leap in the air and catch insects really well. Also as she got older more dark patches started showing through her coat. when i got her she was almost white but for nose and tail and when she died at the age of 19 she was a dark Smokey Grey with some yellowing white still showing through . Once a flash flood hit our town. the day before the flood hit i found my cat hiding in a plastic garbage bag. It was so weird. i could not find her and i called and called until i heard this meowing and then she came running out of this bag to my feet. Maybe all cats can sense things like
that i don't know but i did love my old Siamese she was a good kitty her name was breeze.

I breed Siamese and most of them are very outgoing, social, and loving animals, though they can be very dominant of other cats. By that I mean that they think they are the queen of the home, so get to eat first, get all of the attention of their human, and get the warmest spot of the house. But they aren't usually mean to other cats. They have a very loud voice, which can range from cute to obnoxious depending on their mood. They do tend to pick out a favorite person of the family to follow from room to room, they always want to be near that person and hate to have a closed door seperating them. But if that person is gone to work, they also enjoy being with other members of the family. They can be very intelligent and athletic and pick up such games as playing fetch easily. As Siamese are short haired, they should never be allowed outside unsupervised, but they can easily be taught to wear a harness and go on walks (they really enjoy this as they get to enjoy the weather, nibbling on grass, and rolling in the grass). They should also be taken along in the car with you, first in a crate, but eventually can be taught to stay in the back seat. This will make trips to the vet or on vacation much, much easier. The more human interaction your kitten has, the better personality she will have, so it would be good to take her on visits to friends or family. This will make her less timid and less afraid of new environments. When she is sick, she will probably want you to hold her 24 hours a day, and will cry when she doesn't get her way. When she gets older and gets spayed, she may get more cranky with your other cat, but will love you all the more. But I'm sure you will have lots of fun and love from your new baby.

I have a Tonkinese at the moment. As far as these things go, the Tonk is the smartest, he plays fetch with his toys, and really tries to talk to one, he just forgets he doesn't know the words. Gets carried away leaping about playing, but always sure-footed. He'll always do the sneak thing of waiting for me just around corner and then when I get there stand upright like a bear to give me a fright, then run away and I can swear I hear him laughing!

My cat is a himalyan/siamese mix, and yes, she does pick one human (even her sister did too) and follows them around. Siamese cats are very needy, so they are very verbal. They are also very picky and stubborn too! But they love attention! My cats have never fetched anything, they mainly play for 10 min and sleep. Her sister also loved to jump up on the fridge and up to the ceiling beams to look down.

We have a lynx point siamese mix, Sophie. She also fetches and throws her toy mousies in the air.
She sleeps in the sink and is facinated by running water..but is really scared of it as well.
She follows both me and my husband around.
She sleeps with her paws on her eyes if the lights are on.
She loves climbing her large cat tree...siamese loves high places.
Love her, love her, love her.
