I will pour them onto the floor outside and she will eat around or only from one side so that what is left looks very neat. My other cat just eats wherever. This has only started recently. She was a stray but has been here for at least six months now. I have noticed this for the past week or so. I now know which pile she ate from. Is this the start of OCD?

Cats are creatures of habit. Like people, some are neater than others. I had a cat that would not eat out of a bowl. Not even a shallow bowl that wouldn't bend his whiskers. He had to take his paw, rake the food onto the floor and then eat it. Wet or dry didn't make any difference. Whenever he took a drink of water he had to test it with his paw first. Sometimes he'd just put his paw in and lick the water off. Fun to watch, but strange. (His name was Beetlebaum)

Your cat doesn't have OCD. Every cat eats there own way. Be happy it's neat. At least you know your cat is getting enough to eat.

Cats may sleep in a different place every day. Others will sleep in the same place every day.

There's nothing to worry about. A cat, is a cat, is a cat.

Enjoy

I would call it lucky-my cats pick it up one piece at a time and crunch it up over the floor and just eat what stays in their mouth. If I could get them to be neat I'd be happy to have the food in the bowl.

Its a critical question to answer. may be the dilemma lies behind your perception. Cats are very much related with Cats and not Human. So we can easily find many theories, but to me the most important theory is OCD which stands for - Observer's Compulsive Disorder............ enjoy your cats.

Cats will be cats. My cat likes to swat me on the but and tell me to go to bed at 10:30, though I never follow her advice. Take it from me, kitties are blessed with unique personalities. They are truly wonderful creatures with a mind of their own. Let them be cats, and don't worry about her being too neat. That's a good thing, btw. You don't want a messy cat! :) Trust me on that one!!!

I would say no. It is in a cats nature to be very neat about things. This cat is just showing it through how he eats his food. that sounds cute tho =]

You should be proud to have a smart and clean cat instead of worrying/thinking about ocd!=)

you are more likely to develop obsessive compulsive disorder doing crazy nonsence like this rather than just putting your cats food in a bowl.
