It may depend on the state. I know in Michigan, you are not required to license a cat. Just make the appointment to get him neutered, and ask the receptionist or veterinarian about licensing while you are doing that. If the cat needs a license you can get it from the vet and do the neuter all that the same time.

You can get him neutered without a license. In fact most areas don't have a special license for cats. Talk to your local vet. They should know all the local laws about what your cat needs, etc. Good luck with him. I hope you have MANY happy years together.

I've had cats before and never had any type of license for them. It may vary state to state but I seriously doubt it. Good luck with your new friend :)

No. Cats do not require and license. You may need proof of vaccines to get it neutered, depending on where you get it done, but that is it.

Make sure that you check with your local government as different towns and cities have different regs. In my area, cats need rabies vaccinations and that's about it. Neutering is a great idea and don't forget to get your kitty dewormed and get rabies and feline distemper vaccinations. Have fun with your new kitty.

No, but seriously: I'm not sure what you need where you are from, but there aren't any cat licences where I am from. Wherever you take him to get neutered they will tell you what the requirements are.
