I have a cat who is 3 years and won't eat dry food! The only thing she eats is wet food and I hate to think of starving her for a few days. What can I do??

The reason why I would starve her is to get her to go to the dry food.

Actually that sound harsh (starving). *Not feeding* sounds better...I'm sorry.

Your cat is smart to turn up her nose at the cereal. Why should a carnivore want to eat fake meat?

Stick with the canned food. It's GOOD for them.

Dry food is generally bad. And it doesn't clean their teeth.

My own two eat canned only. They get the occasional spoonful of dry food (but it's a good brand - Evo) as a treat.

Cats don't like changes. Mix some dry food with her wet food small quantity at a time. Don't be alarm, she will be smart enough not to eat the part where there are dry food. Go on and add a little more dry food everyday and she will get to it. If she eats dry food, give her treats right away to encourage the behavior.

Now there is other things to do before that though. Try different kind of dry food. Maybe she don't likes the one you're giving her.

Also try to see if there aren't any dental problem related to the reason she won't eat dry food. It is very unlikely at that age but you never know.

You can try to mix in the dry food with the wet and each time add more dry and less wet.. This way she will get a little of both and maybe take to eating the dry.
Our cats eat dry food most of the time. The wet food it more of a treat and when they hear the can open they go nuts...

When was the last time she was seen by a vet? If she's never liked dry food, then she must just prefer the canned. However, if she just started this recently, you probably need to have her teeth checked. Her mouth may be sore, and the dry food doesn't feel good to her. Good luck....

Feed her a high quality wet food. Dry foods have more carbs and fillers in them which are bad for cats. Theres nothing wrong with her eating only wet food.

I wouldn't worry about switching her to dry food, unless you have some specific reason for needing to do it. A high quality wet food is good for her because it keeps her better hydrated than she'd be on dry food, and you can give her treats occasionally, like feline greenies, to help keep her teeth clean.

It's also not very good to switch a cat's food a lot. It tends to make them throw up and have some GI problems.

My cat is the same way!!!! The only brand of dry food that she likes is Meow Mix. She also is very picky about if her food bowl is clean or not.

Good Luck!

cats are finicky if she wants wet food i'd say give it to her but that could make her sick if it is to much. try putting some of the juice of the wet stuff or canned tuna on the dry and then a little of dry alone, maybe she just doesnt like the dry you give her try switching. if that doesnt work ask a vet
