He is absolutely adorable!
Congrats on finding a name :)

We had an orange cat named Simba too and he too ran away.
At another time we had a real fluffy orange cat and we named him "Lovey Boy" because he was the must cuddly cat I've ever known.
And I had an orange male cat when I was a kid. I named him Pokey because he got one of his paws caught in a rat trap when he was a kitten and had to have the paw removed... so he "poked" around for awhile lol He was a tom cat and actually lived to be 20.

Now our male cats are Rogue and Tucker Baby. Our female cat is Chips- I call her "tater chips" lol

I think a "personality-name" is most fitting for your puddy-tat.
POUNCER / or a noticed habit he develops could fit.
Or...... any tangential idea might be appropriate.

My neighbors chose a Dog from the local Animal shelter and while driving home, they were "tossing" names between each other until one saw a street name......
DAKOTA was the street name and it fit the pup! - They have been a happy Family since that time (1 year already!)

I have more recently become a 2-leg to a stray kitten. This black (as cole) puddy tat came to me with his momma-cat. <-She was also black, so I named him BRONSON - which is Greek for "Son of the dark-haired mother."
I intended to use a Greek-alphabet theme just because it felt right. Alpha->Beta thus turned into ABBEY (translated from Greek "Father's favored") and Bronson (explained here^.)
GOOD LUCK!

Ooooh! He's lovely, and identical to my male cat!
They're so cute at that age, and you're right, names like "Tiger" are very uninspired and don't seem right on such a beautiful kitten!

I called mine "Sandy", but names that came up in the process included, "Honey", "Clementine" and "Scoot"

At the same time we also adopted his brother, a gorgeous black/white kitten who was extremely playful that I named "Buttons" after the PUSSYCAT dolls song, and because it's such high-energy, I felt it really fitted with his personality! I don't regret any choices and think their names are brilliant :D
Hope I helped in some way x

In 1973 - 1991, our family had a cat named Precious. He love all of us so much, he was a great cat. My Mom had the greatest relationship with him. Precious lived until almost 18!

I myself like the name Freddy, just a personal opinion.

He is adorable. I have a couple ideas...
1) Berlioz or Toulouse (my cats name) ( from the disney movie the aristocats)
2) Puss (in Boots from Shrek)
3) Teddy ( i think it fits)
4) Fuzzy
5) Cody, Honey
Hope this helps!

Such a cute kitty!!! Looks like it could be my cat's little brother!! Our cat looks exactly like yours, but he's 10 years old. His name is Elmo. (Our daughter was into Sesame Street names for her pets).
