A kitten appeared on my door step and I took it in and gave it some food, but now I am tired of it and wanting to get rid of it. If I am trying to give it away what steps do I need to do to complete it? Do I need to take it and get it a flea bath and shots, or do I let whoever is going to get the cat take care of that?

Yesterday when I got home, my cat was acting very strange. She was very jumpy..shed get startled anytime I would pet her..she acted as though she was seeing things that werent there..for example, she would look at the ceiling or the wall and she would jump really high and run away. It was almost impossible to hold her because she kept looking at something, getting scared, and running away. She couldnt walk or run in a straight line. When I held her, I could feel her whole body twitching, like she was having muscle spasms.
After a couple hours she was much better, but was still a little twitchy and jumpy as she is now.
I can think of absolutely nothing she could have eaten or gotton into that could have made her act this way! I also dont have any catnip she could have gotton into it, as someone suggested.
Im really worried at would have have happened to her...please help!

I just found a weird looking bug on my cat. It is not a flea or tick, I have seen these before. It is shaped like rice but smaller, furry, slow moving. It looks like its head is red and tali is black and the middle is beige.
I had seen a flash of a bug crawl to the top of her fur the other day and immediatly assumed fleas and treated her with the drops on neck. I just brushed her and 4 of these bugs have fallen off of her. I have looked every where on the internet and cannot find a picture of this bug. HELP!

My cat is really overweight, and is fairly old. I believe she is now 12 years old. When shhe goes near her food bowl, she just sits there until we finally move it closer to her. Me and my mom are worried, and don't know if she's losing her sight, or if she's just lazy.

He is very quiet and tends to stay in the same spot for hours just staring and is moving slowly. Seems to be in pain also around his belly. He had his adult boosters yesterday.

I took my cat in for her "yearly shots" and she was not the same ffrom the minute I brought her back from the vet. She threw up minutes after I let her out of the carrier, and went poop outside her box within 15 minutes. As the weeks went by she lost her appetite and wittled down to nothing. I did make calls to the vet and he said she may be just going through a phase. She got really bad, and I took her for a second opinion, but it was too late. We tried force feeding but she got so bad we had to put her down. Is there a known cause to fatty liver disease?

And, what about those automatic pooper scoopers. Do they work?

My cat has lost all the nerves in it's tail, and it's tail is "dead". I have been advised by the vet to have it amputated in case it gets caught in anything the cat will not be able to feel it. The cat is however in NO pain or discomfort. The procedure is however going to cost $1000 or more.

Do you think that it is important that I have the amputation done or not? What would you do?

Have you raised your cat to take car rides with you?
Just adopted an adorable kitten.
Would LOVE to train this cat from kittenhood to adulthood to ride in cars, take cat walks {on one of those cat leashes they sell}, and from the start {after all their shots/distemper,ect} give them occassional baths--not a lot of baths just maybe once a month
BACK TO CAR QUESTION THOUGH :o)
thanks

Tuesday i thought was a very momentuous day,i trapped the 4th and final stary/feral cat and had her spayed, shots, etc(4th meaning there are 4 feral cats that i feed daily)However an un expected twist happend. While she was recoverying in my spare bedroom, i realized she wasnt feral, more likely a dumped or abanded cat. everytime i went to check on her, she would follow me, try to stand on me a purr, and want to be petted, the complete opposite of the previous three who would hide under the bed until i would open the doors in my house to give them a passage way to go back outside and be free.
I feel horrible becuase i already have three indoor cats and cant have anymore (my parents whom im very close with, even though i own place without them, had warned me that 3 is enough and anymore they wont visit me) what should I do?from watching her, eventhough she is friendly to me, the other cats who her offspring she is mean to, slaps them, and doesnt seem to conducive to living with cats

Well, you know they have cat leashes at the pet store.
and I just adopted a kitten. When he gets older, just big enough for a cat leash, I'd like to 'train' the feline to become accustomed to walks outdoors so they get a taste of the outdoors.
back to original question~do u take ur cats on walks?

I adopted him in April. He follows me from room and room, massages my back with his claws, and sometimes sleeps in my bed with me, but he refuses to let me pet him or hold him...he bites.

Does my cat hate me? Can this be worked on, like with a dog, or is it a lost cause?

This was suggested as a remedy in an earlier question that I asked.

If I were to do this, how much olive oil would I give her and how would I get it into her? I have an eye dropper and also a plastic syringe that could be used.

What should I do?

Thanks

First let me say I am a avid believer in spaying and neutering animals and every animal I have ever owned has been (aprox. 15 cats and 3 dogs over 22 years and none ever had offspring). Since moving out and buying my own house I aquired two kittens--one in Sept of last year and one in April of this year. I got Tess spayed as soon as the vet reccommended however I have been more reluctant with Maddie. No real reason other than I like the status quo and don't want her to be away from me overnight. There is absolutely no possible way for her to get pregnant so that is not a concern. I am just curious what to expect since I have never had a cat past 6 months without being spayed. Maddie is a very social kitten who has never met a stranger so being more affectionate as I have read really won't be noticeable ( from the minute I walk in the door til the moment I go to bed she is wrapped around my neck like a scarf--its her fav place). She was born in Feb so about 9 months now.

First let me get you familiar with my cats. I have Potato,Ruffus,Deano,Princess,Catalina,Sqeaks, and Kotton.
Kotton, and Sqeaks are the two kittens. The rest are adults. Now mind you I have had my cats from anywhere to 4months to 5yrs,and they have cause no problems. Ruffus, and Deano are fixed. Now, in my neighborhood there tend to be quite a few cats, around 18 but only about 3-4 are homeless/stray. Out of those strays there happens to be a female with a litter near my neighbors new house. However they seem to think that my cats are producing these kittens which they are not its a stray female in the area. So what does my neighbor do? Apparently calls up the pound. (as i was told by my closer neighbor.) Now im not saying he did, but Ruffus is missing... Ruffus never ever leaves my porch...ever! Its been 3 days ive looked online at pounds, no help... is this even aloud? i mean is it lawful? can a neighbor call the pound on YOUR cat? Thanks, Just tell me if you have any questions. =]

My cat found a peppermint candy that had fallen on the kitchen floor and started to lick it. Her reaction to it was similar to how she reacts to catnip (rubbing against everything, rolling around on the floor). My question then, is peppermint dangerous to cats? She only managed to lick the candy a couple times before I noticed and took it away, so I'm not really worried about her health, just curious as she seemed to enjoy it.

I posted a question last week and got tons of good answers but wanted to update my question. Last weekend I bathed my three cats and fogged the house. I also applied some store bought flea spot on (I now know they won't work and plan to get some from my vet). I have combed my cats everyday and it takes longer and longer to find a flea---still plenty of the flea dirts tho. Last night I was eaten alive it seems. Guess the fleas can't feed off the cats so I am the last option. I bought the Capstar pills and gave to each of my cats and fogged the house yet again. Since the fogger I used said nothing about flea eggs or pupae I purchased a powder and sprinkled that throughtout. I am washing all the bedding as I write this. In your experience is this enough to rid the last fleas? I know its takes awhile but I am tired of putting on Off spray just to get into bed. I wash my bedding/blankets weekly and vacumn twice weekly. Also when can I safely apply the vet spot on due to the other?

My parents bought these white leather chairs and my cat went on one and made little tiny holes in the front part so my dad said that is she does it again, most likely she will because she is used to filling her nails on chairs, he will put her up for adoption but I dont want to put her up for adoption. How do I convince my mom and dad NOT to give her away? He also said that if he doesn't, he will cut off her nails all the way down and they won't grow back. I think. PLEASE HELP ME ON HOW TO GET MY DAD NOT TO THROW OUT MY CAT

My cat has been constantly scratching himself for over three months now. I fought that he had fleas so I have tried to give him baths; I used collars and other methods to get rid of the fleas and ticks, but nothing that I try works. My cat is still constantly scratching himself over and over again, and I don’t really know what to do with him anymore. His skin seems to be very clean, and I don’t see any fleas. So what causes this problem??
