A kitten appeared on my door step and I took it in and gave it some food, but now I am tired of it and wanting to get rid of it. If I am trying to give it away what steps do I need to do to complete it? Do I need to take it and get it a flea bath and shots, or do I let whoever is going to get the cat take care of that?

Well, it would make it easier to rehome if you took it to the vets for its vaccinations and flea treatment (not bathing) as it would indicate to a potential new owner that the kitten has come from a good home. This may not necessarily true, but you could still give that impression.

Getting it to a vet and taking care of it's first routine shots would help if you want to get rid of it right away. People will be more willing to take the kitten if they know it has a clean bill of health and maybe the vet can help you get in touch with a cat lover or oganization who would be willing to help you out. Sounds to me like the kitty adopted you, though. You might get over your tiring of it and find it to be a suitable companion. After all, cats are relatively low maintanence after the kitten stage.

I would atleast make sure it doesn't have fleas. Then ask friends and family, put up flyers, and if nothing works take him to an animal shelter. He'll have a good chance of getting adopted if he's only a kitten. Good Luck!

if you want to get rid of it i would at least give it a flea bath. you wouldnt want to give someone else fleas in their home. ask your friends or family if they want one. if no one does then take it to an animal shelter. ell them you just found it an it needs a good home. people are more likey to adopted a kitten then a cat so the kitten has a good chance of getin a home. but ask around first people would rather get a free kitten then have to pay 35 dollars for one.
