Well, you know they have cat leashes at the pet store.
and I just adopted a kitten. When he gets older, just big enough for a cat leash, I'd like to 'train' the feline to become accustomed to walks outdoors so they get a taste of the outdoors.
back to original question~do u take ur cats on walks?

I'd be careful about taking a cat on a walk because of the cat's nature to be wary. Almost everything outside is bigger and louder than the cat. So if you had gotten the kitty used to the harness and had walked him around inside, when tried to get kitty to walk on a leash outside, what would happen is kitty would run right up your pants leg and end up on the top of your head. (OW!)

There are pet strollers available that might be a safer alternative to going walkies with kitty.

Cats that are used to the indoors dont react well to going outside, So start while he is young.
And cats that are used to being outside on a leash, will refuse to walk.

But I did have a rabbit that I took for walks. He was oblivious to all the things cats notice first.

Well kitties are stubborn animals. It is very hard to train your cat to go for a walk with you. I tried once but it always tried to get it's collar off. So I stopped trying. Cats are really hard to train because as I said they are stubborn animals.

Start now... collar and leash... they will get used to it. My cousin used to take her cats on a walk.. she didn't want him to be outside without her, so when she got home from work, she would take him on a walk around her home... it was quite cute and fun.

I have 9 cats, and they train me, I don't dare train them, all indoors and all fixed. Good luck lady!

Mine would certainly have none of that.
