Clare is usually a very playful and active cat, but recently I've noticed she is a bit more lethargic than usual and seems to be loosing weight. I'm wondering if all this is connected and would like to know (1) what it is and (2) what to do about it. I would prefer home remedies as I live in China at the moment and veterinary services are ... limited. However, we do have a very friendly vet who is open to suggestions from other vets. Thanks in advance for those of you who offer helpful advice.

Yellow is bile, which means there's an empty stomach. Can you encourage small meals more often during the day?

Chicken is easy on a cat's stomach, you can try offering baked or cooked chicken to her.

I would try to take her to the vet if possible. The yellow liquid is bile from her stomach. I don't know very much about the causes of that but hopefully your vet/another poster will.

Did you switch pet foods recently? Is there wheat gluten in the food? (I just remembered that tainted pet food thing we had in the states.) Any new plants in the house she could have eaten or cleaning supplies left out? If so mention that to the vet. If you can't get a diagnosis or anything from a vet here is some stuff that may help with the effects of the vomiting at least

Is she eating normally? If there is a canned food that you usually give her try feeding her that. It would help with dehydration. Pinch the skin on the back of her neck and see if it snaps back right away. If it stays up for more than a second or so that means she is dehydrated and should go to the vet if possible. You can try giving her Pedialyte for dehydration or whatever the Chinese equivalent is.
To make it at home- http://www.hdw-inc.com/glop.htm
the recipe is at the very bottom of this page. Also could try one of the 'glop' recipes if she is not eating well, if you can find the ingredients.
Sorry I couldn't help more, I hope your cat gets better soon!

Vomiting in a cat can be clinically significant in a young cat.
Loosing weight in a young cat is concerning.
Does the cat have an appetite?
Does vomiting occur around meals?
Does the cat cough or sound congested?
I would discuss with your vet a dosage for pepcid to see if that helps.
Make sure your cat continues to eat well.
Cats can not go long without eating.
Appetite stimulants vary from valium, cyprohedtidine and .mitazapine. Mitazapine is remeron a human anti depressant that works well 1/4 tablet every 3 days
Omega fatty acids are benefical due to anti inflammatory .properties.
I would make sure the cat is dewormed and tested for felv and fiv .

I'd get that vet's advice ASAP, the cat may dehydrate and get very sick just because of that, to top it off. Good luck!
