Male cats grow for 15 months, while female usually grow for 12 months. Maine Coon cats sometime will grow a few moths longer sometime since they originated more closely from wild cats than other breeds. They are a very great pets!

I've read 4-5 years to "mature into their body". Was around 2 years old when I got him Dec. 22 2013. It is now March 6 2014 and he has grown SO much since I got him, width-wise and length wise. He is only 11 1/2 lbs so that is kind of on the lighter side. My 4 year old domestic shorthair is much, much smaller than he is but she only weighs 1 lb less than him. Sometimes you can tell by paw size with cats and dogs. We have a great Pyrenees pup that isn't even a year old and his paws grew first but he's starting to grow into them since he's bigger than our dining room table already. Same goes for my maine coon cat.

Maine Coon Cats take up to 3 years to mature. I used to show household pet cats with TICA and a Maine Coon breeder thought my cat Colby was a Purebred. If not purebred, she said, he has a lot of Maine Coon in him. Colby use to weigh a svelt 20 pounds. He lost a couple of pounds as a 12 year old.
You can see Colby here:

They grow conspicuously unti a year / 15 months. Then the whole process slows down.
What grows and changes now is the size of the belly.
They may change from season to season.
There are fat cats and slim cats.
But mainly they have done growing after 15 months.
Whatever, love them!
