Sometimes my younger cat will be sleeping and then meow and abruptly wake up and look around like she's confused. I'm assuming she was having some crazy dream. Do you think cats just dream about food and chasing stuff?

I reckon they dream. They may dream about hunting mice, eating, lol sleeping, their younger days, playing, fame and fortune and wild dreams.

Since they are a kitten and at a very young age they may be (if treated well by their Guardian) dreaming about you. Ask a very young child to explain something that makes them happy and listen very closely to their description they give, and you will know if you accept what the child is actually saying is "real" to them that your Kitten is doing the same thing. Maybe the kitten is talking to God and thanking Him for a wonderful home that He has given him. Anything is possible for those who believe, and that goes for Kittens also. I have two wonderful and loving Furry Babies myself and I know they are happy. You will come to know that as the Kitten grows up and if he shows you love it is because you have given love to he/she. They did not choose you, you chose him. Love them with all your heart and the return cannot be measured in any way except by the love you give and get back without asking. Your actions will be the based on that love. Take good care of that Furry baby, and he will take care of you more then you will ever realize.

I think that your cat may be disturbed about something. I have seen shows on t.v about animal psychics that are able to diagnose quite accurately, the psychological problems of animals. From what I understand , you may avail of their services if you reside in the United States. As I am not a US resident, I cannot give you any further info on this. Personally speaking I am a bit skeptical about this. However, I do think it is worth a shot if you can make it work. It is rather insensitive and presumptuous on our part as human beings to assume that due to our superior intelligence, it is solely our prerogative to feel pain and happiness and other emotions. We should realize that animals too have greater concerns than those of food and things to chase about. I would advise you to have it checked out.

LOL, I've seen that look and wondered about it myself. My cat is allowed outdoors so I've always thought that it is related to something that happened out there that I don't know about. He has a little den that he staked out for himself in the bramble hedge behind our house so I think he wakes up sometimes and forgets where he is.

MOST CATS DREAM ABOUT CHASING MICE OR BIRDS. IF SHE WAKES UP LOOKING CONFUSED IT IS BECAUSE SHE MISPLACED WHAT SHE WAS CHASING.
