I have had my cat since 2002 and got her when she was a kitten. She's lived with one other cat since I've had her and then I got a new roommate and she was an only cat. She's my baby, and always will be. We got a kitten this past May and although she's learned to tolerate her, sometimes I feel like she thinks I don't love her as much anymore. Do cats have that sense? Can they be mad or think you love them less? I did pay a lot of attention to the baby at first because I wanted to keep an eye on her, but I still made sure to pay attention to my older cat.

Most animals would prefer to be ruler of the roost. They do get attached, but it is an adjustment over time. Sometimes they never get along. Cats are very sensitive.

Cats can get moody if they think you aren't giving them enough attention. My cat hates our three other cats, won't go near them. We got the other three cats at different times though and they have all got used to each other. It all depends on the cat.
Just make sure you give them a lot of attention, or alone time. I find that my cat can tolerate the other cats when she is next to me under a throw blanket or something, its probably only because she can't see the other cat.

Your No. 1 cat will get jealous unless you go out of your way to make her realize that she is still No. 1 cat. When you feed them, offer No/ 1's bowl FIRST. When you greet them, greet No. 1 first and so on. That's how I settled all my cat's jealousy issues with the kitten that adopted me last May.

Cats do seem to get annoyed with less attention... especially if they are used to a certain lifestyle and it changes. Just like any other normal living thing.

well shes probably not mad at you, but she might be a little suspicious is why there is another cat in his of hers domain.try not to put the 2 cats together at first but sooner or later there gonna run into each other. so just let them each other handle it them selves.

oh yes, cats can be very vindictive, they are mainly a one person pet and demand the love and attention from that one person.when you move another cat or pet into the house it threatens them and makes them feel as though they have to fight for your love.

Cat's can get jelous just as easy as person can. (They are attention whores... pardon the vulgar slang...) Just give it some more time and she'll probaby get used to the idea of sharing her person.
