And she lived in TN...but I'm all the way across the country. I can't get a ticket for less than $1300. I feel so guilty and feel like I should go. I've already taken so much time from work for my own health reasons and looked for a flight that I could catch after work but there's nothing. So I'd still have to leave work early on Friday. What should I do?

My daughter is 12 and doesn't communicate with me. She goes to school every morning, comes home, and close the door to her room and wouldn't come out until dinner. After dinner, she goes to her room again and close the door. She spends all her time doing homework, watching tv, using computer, playing video games, and talking on the phone. She wouldn't say anything to me unless she have to. When I want to talk to her, she would try to move away. The last thing she want to do is talk to family. She doesn't even say hi to me anymore. She doesn't even join family reunions or activities. I don't want to be too hard because she is a good girl and doesn't disrespect or get in trouble. This is happening even since she started junior high school. I don't know why or or what to do. I love her and want to have a good childhood relationship with her but it is not working. I am a hard working parent and want to spend time with her but she doesn't appreciate it.

so me and my mom where having another one of our useless lecured talks and i told her to read a book on parenting and she told me to find a book about how to respect your parents or some crap like that. as if there really is a such book. =p. wtf. anyway, i went online and got her an article to read and she said she wouldnt read it until i find an article about how to be nicer to your parents because in her mind, "there should be one." and i was like, "mom there is no such thing because its not like im childrening you, your parenting me!" and her stubborn self was like "nooooo... there is one there has to be since there are articles about parenting." *sighhh* and i was like want a bet? and and she was like yes i want a bet. and now she went outside to smoke. somone please point me the in the right direction of this so-called how to be a better child to your parents book. WTFFFFFFFFFF.

my sister went on some YAS summer program where you go with a group of people camping around Yellowstone National Park for a month doing community service, etc.
She asked my mom if she could go with our family friend Rachel who lives in our town if she could go to Tim's house and visit him and Petey.
My mom said yes, so my sister found all the train times, and money and everything.
Tim lives in a boardering state.
Then my sister told my mom she wanted to sleep over.
And they got into his HUGE fight.

My mom won't let my sister sleep over, and its pretty obvious why. She says there is 'no supervision' and 'its not right for a lady to sleep over a guys house' and 'she never met him'
BUT.
My mom lets my sister go over her boyfriends house.

Any suggestions on helping my sister?

My brother does not want to speak to me. The last time that we spoke, he told me something that hurt me. I hung up on him.

I sent an e-mail apologizing to him. He did not reply.

Now, I heard from someone else that he does want to speak to me at all because he thinks that something is wrong with me.

I have decided to not worry about it, but wonder why he is so against me that he would talk bad about me behind my back to someone else.

He lives 3000 miles away and is married with two children.

Should I just ignore it or try to patch up things?

I tend to get really stressed out b/c of someone in my life. This person doesn't treat me that great and I don't know how to deal with it. I don't want to cut or anything like that but I'm afraid that it may progress to that if the situation doesn't get much better.

I know kids shouldn't worry about there parents, but i am. My mom got a 7 day free pass to Gold's Gym and i think she may want to use it. I went to Gold's Gym today and worked out and she came with me. But she didn't work out and she didn't use it. She just sat there and waited for me. My stepson has lived with me and his father for the past two years. He has only seen his mother a couple of times since he has been with us she just doesnt seem to have the time for him. The court awarded her summer visitation of 6 weeks. Last summer she didnt take him, she said she was to busy. This summer she decided she would which I thought would be great for him so see his mother and her family. After two weeks of him being with her he had a baseball game that we went to watch after it was over we went to tell him how good he did and the wouldnt even talk to us hardly, then his mother said why dont you go spend the night at home with your daddy and he said no I dont want to go I dont want to go. Since then everytime we call he wont talk to us on the phone. I dont understand what is going on. He has loved being with us these last two years but it has been hard on him not seeing his mom. I was just wondering why he is acting like this and what we can do for him.

He's 12, a good boy, but, like most boys his age, sometimes he's somewhat disrespectful and sometimes likes to bully his lil sister, that is 10. I found a punishment that has worked great and is really changing the boy's behavior. When he is disrespectful or bullies his sister, I make him do extra chores wearing a full sweet frilly apron, with a large bow in the back. He gets embarrassed, but then I'm kinda form. I dont humiliate him and let him know I love him, but depending on what he did, he has to spend some hours or even a day wearing that apron. But I don't make him wear it in public or in front of his friends.

When my son was born, his mother made it very difficult for me to come see him. She was always trying to start trouble or a fight. It was to the point where I couldn't stand being around her and her childishness So I gave up. My son is 2 and haven't seen or heard from him in almost a year now. Now she's going around telling everyone how much of a deadbeat I am even though I always pay child support. Why would I want to visit the baby when I would have to deal with her?

I'm moving away so that i can live my life, and make my own mistakes...why can't she just see that?

Someone died early this morning today that my family loved deeply and I do not know how to tell my children, without making it seem like God is the culprit. I know my kids are going to wonder why God did this because they have asked me why people died before in that way. I really want to explain death to them in a way that seems peaceful instead of them ending up hating God. Please help me help them!

I'm due to have my first baby in Aug. ( I do have two step children ages 11, and 12 ) Me and my husband let him come and stay with us before I knew I was expecting. He's driving me crazy, not working, and thinks we should thank him every time he does anything like the dishes. I know he doesn't have anywhere else to go, but I don't know how much longer I'm going to have my own sanity. How do I tell him to leave without being a jerk? I have taken him to try to get him jobs, but he loses them usally in about a week. He's completly hopeless (AND NOT RELATED)

I've been divorced for about 11 years now. My son lived with me for the first 5, then he went to live with his mom and her new husband and their 2 new kids. His mom and I do not have a good relationship at all. She has been telling me for a few years now that my son wants to change his last name so that he has the same name as his half bros. She also said that then I will not have to pay support. I feel she has done as much as she can to keep him from me and if I do this (which involves giving up my parental rights) I'll never get to see him or talk to him again. I love my son very much and want him in my life but don't know how to explain to my son so he will understand (he is 12 now). I feel his mother has manipulated him throughout the years into thinking that i'm not that important in his life and that it is no big deal to change the name. Also she makes him think that if I do this that we will still be able to visit and talk to each other.
