My stepson has lived with me and his father for the past two years. He has only seen his mother a couple of times since he has been with us she just doesnt seem to have the time for him. The court awarded her summer visitation of 6 weeks. Last summer she didnt take him, she said she was to busy. This summer she decided she would which I thought would be great for him so see his mother and her family. After two weeks of him being with her he had a baseball game that we went to watch after it was over we went to tell him how good he did and the wouldnt even talk to us hardly, then his mother said why dont you go spend the night at home with your daddy and he said no I dont want to go I dont want to go. Since then everytime we call he wont talk to us on the phone. I dont understand what is going on. He has loved being with us these last two years but it has been hard on him not seeing his mom. I was just wondering why he is acting like this and what we can do for him.

Yeah I was feeling like it might be that he is afraid that once he comes home he dont know when he will see her again she normaly she never comes to see him. This is the first time in about two years. I just feel really bad for him and wish their was something I could do.

He is suppose to go everyother weekend 7 days during christmas and six weeks in the summer. But this is the first time she has got him. We have tried to get her to come see him more but she wont do it. Just all of a sudden she said before summer that she wanted to take him for her six weeks this time. Anytime he wanted to go we would have no problem with.

it might just be the fact that he is finally spending time with his mother. and he is enjoying himself. maby she is being a little lax on the rules. so he is liking that idea. maby in his own mind, he is trying to show his mother that he is a good boy, and fun to be around. im saying that in reference to the fact that she didnt have time for him last summer, and telling him to go spend the night with his daddy. he might just also be confused, and trying to figure things out. maby just give him a little space, dont ask him why he is acting like this. will confuse him more. let him come to you, dont take any thing personally. thats all i can think of. hope this helps.

it's a shame his mom has been so uninvolved all this time. the poor kid's probably so confused he doesn't know what to do. are you sure his mom hasn't been saying things to him? maybe it's time to sit down with her and see if anything as happened since he's been there. then make a schedule for more frequent visitation. he really should be able to see her more if he wants. have a talk with him as well.

it must be really hard for him to have two families. maybe he wants to spend more time with his mother because he doesn't see her much.

is the mother a nice person? if she is, i dunno, if she's one of those people who like to slip in nasty comments she might just well do that and if the kid loves his mom or fears her that he acts like that for her sake.
