Family - June 2007

My dad and the rest of my family is having trouble lately, in particular, divorce issues. What should I get my dad for father's day? I couldn't send him anything, b/c he won't tell us where he lives now, and I don't like going to visit him either. What do I do??

My mom and step dad are getting a divorce and My step dad is staying in our current town and me my mom and my sister are moving down were our extended family lives. My problem is, is that my aunt wants me to live with her, my mom wants me to live with her, my step dad wants me to live with him and my real dad in california wants me to stay with him. The problem with me staying with my real dad is that he is into drugs and altho he says hes clean I don't know if I can trust him. My step dad and I don't get along really well but I know he loves me very much because hes been my father figure since I was 2. My mom and I don't get along real well but I love her to death. I get along with my aunt REALLY well. Thats why I want to stay with her. I'm afraid my dad will be really mad at me if I do that because he doesn't like my aunt. I don't know who to choose. What should I do! please tell me! I'm so excited to move but this lil thing is holding me back so much!

I was just wondering.... I have a friend who was my former teacher and ever since the semester ended, we have talked through email all the time. We have also gone to lunch a couple of times since then. She is pregnant and married. She told me to call her by her first name by implying she wants to be friends and she actually got me and my b/f started on a hobby that her and her husband do. Well anyway.. I think she she is a really good person and I would really like our friendshipto progress into where we become better friends as in that I mean talking on the phone and visiting each other at our houses and stuff like that. Well I am unsure if she wants to be friends like I do and I kind of wanted to ask her where she "stood". I dont know how to ask her though w/out seeming rude or ruining anything to where she got mad and never spoke to me again. Does it seem like if i kept on.. we might become good friends??What do you think?

My husband let my 12 y/o niece take my 6 y/o daughter WHO DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO SWIM to the community pool while I was at work so he could do yard work. He said that he talked with a lifeguard he knew in school not that he was best friends with or even hung out with and he said he would keep an eye on her. Mind you the kiddie pool was closed, and the farthest she could go in the big pool was the steps because even the shallow end was over her head!! I asked him to go and get because I didn't feel comfortable and he said no! I called my mom to pick her up and she did. He was so pissed at me, he said I undermined his decision as a parent. HELP!!!

My Grandmother doesn't like my mom at all and always says bad things about her to me. Recently I have been busy with school/work and I wasn't able to call her every week. She started telling me that I was like my mother. Now she is really mean to me when I talk to her and yells at me for not talking to my dad who I don't ignore but just have nothing to talk about with because he never returns my calls. I have my immediate family with my siblings and their children that I am VERY close with so should I just ignore my Grandma and close that family out of my life or just bite my tongue when she's rude with me?

im 27 have not lived with either for 10 years. my mom is feeble minded and has one foot in the loony bin, my sister is not the sharpest tool in the shed. here is what happedn. my OB doctor i swtiched from him bcuz he wouldnt write me the note i need to go on matnerity leave. so after i swtiched to a new doctor, he went behind my back and called my HR and told them my post traumatic stress disorder is acitng up and asked if they cover that under FMLA. i had no idea he was going to call them nor did i even consent to it. i ddint want my job knowing my PTSD was acting up i told him that under doctor/patietn privalege in confidence. i fired him over it and told hime he broke the law. anyway my nutty mom decided to take it on herself to call him on her own accord and beg him to take me back as a patietn and tell him that i need a doctors note. then she called me and says " gee i took care of everythign hes so nice " i said ' yeah of course hes being nice h can lose his medical license

It's pretty obvious that my mother favors my brother over me (even though he doesn't live here anymore!); my brother is also the family favorite (extended), and I'm pretty sure that no one cares about me that much in the family. We do not get along well, and haven't for years. We rarely see each other. He has pretty much everything he could want or need. I don't know him that well any more.

But I want to improve my relationship with him, and I still love him and miss him, because he is my dad. And he has given me so much over the years that I want to give him something nice this year... especially since this is the last year I will be home on father's day for quite some time.

So, what should I get him for father's day?

That happened to me and today I am a woman who feels very sad to see all this man who get girls pregnant and then walk away from their responsibility.These man has no idea how much they hurt their child who had to grow up without a father...it will stay with me forever and I will never forget how much pain my father caused me to feel all trough this years,I never had him there for me and I never had the chance to call him father.It still hurts me until today.

My father don't mean **** to me and never will.I have his phone number but I never called because he just don't deserve to hear my voice,and if I called I would call him a ******* *** *****

Im 18 years old and my girlfriend lives with her dad and she has been over to my house past her curfue a couple of times. and one or 2 times she has lied to her parents about were she is and i have also lied to them and have gotton cought...but this was only once....so to recap ive lied once, and kept her out past her 11:30 bullshit curfue about 5-6 times? then she gets introuble and ofcourse i am the one to blame? is it to late for me to turn my act around?

he is almost 7 and he lies about 20 times a day to everyone, he never listens to anyone. not even my dad. and my dad is really strict with him. school has been out for about 3weeks and he has been grounded for about 1 week out of the 3 just for lying. he backtalks and he make HUGE messes everywhere. he is ADHD and cant focus very well and i love him to death. I have been mostly seperated from my son for over a year, he lives 8 hrs away with his grandma. I make it a point to visit him, call him and be in contact with him as much as possible. The reasons that he is there and not here are numerous but they have nothing to do with drugs, abuse or anything bad. I didn't want him to be in the middle of a divorce that lasted forever. I want to move where he is even if that means it will be financially straining. Three are no reasons now that we shouldn't be building our mother son relationship into something normal, and I am not going to keep making excuses,or listening to them for that matter. The longer we are apart the less we know each other. My fiance doesn't want to move because his five year old son is here and would only be with us during the school year. I feel angry. We a child together and I have raised his son for three years, we need to be there for my son as well even if it's not a perfect situation for my fiance and his family.

Her mother is now trying to get her to leave me. I was suicidle and looking for help befor the baby got here i put my-self in the hospitle.whin i got out i found out i got kicked out of my house.We now live three hour's apart. Now am looking for friendly adviece. Thank You.

i need a cell phone because i always need to reach one of my parents or my siblings but cant becasue i dont have one. im 14 years old and going to highschool next year. my mom and my sisters have one and i dont think its fair because i need one. especially for this summer because i will be away for a montha nd wont be able to contact anyone when i am alone with friends or out with friends somewhere. i dont just want one and my mom doesnt have enough money to buy one. i cant get a summer job because i wont be near my home the whole summer, and i need to concentrate on my studies when the skewl year starts...it really sux and ive wanted a job to pay for my own stuff for a long time but im not able to get one now.any suggestion? i really need a phone!
