I really don't care that he's in there masturbating, except he makes really loud groaning noises that keep me up/wake me up at night. You can also hear his hand whacking against the shower door as he beats it off. I was wondering if I should approach him, or just wait for it to phase out?

What you could do is around 10:30 go down to the water heater and turn the dial down to warm . Then when he gets in the shower go to the kitchen, and turn the hot water on and drain all the hot water out of the tank .As soon as the water gets cold he will get out !!!
Good luck

Let him know that you keep waking up because he keeps banging the shower walls and ask if he could take his shower earlier before you are in bed. He will get the hint and you will get some sleep.

If he doesn't alter his times or noise level talk to your parents.

Good luck!

If the two of you are close then talk to him about it. If you are not too close then just let it phase out and if it continues to bother you then talk to him about it.

Turn off the water at the water heater. Or throw cold water on him. Threaten to take his picture if he does not stop.

Ignore him. In two years he can wake someone else up in his dorm.
