I want to be a vet when I grow up but I'm not sure I will be paid enough to support a family? Help? Animals are my passion! I would love to bring my children to the animal hospital with me and I would just love it! It's the perfect job, but will I be paid enough to support a family? My family won't be with more children then 5 or 6.

I called my mother a day bfore Mother's Day, and she gave me an ice cold reception. I signed a behavorial contract when I was in a children's group home and it stipulates what I must do in order to get home visits again. That means, writing lettrs, then phone calls, then home visits. I signed that contract 15 years ago, and she still won't release me from it. Can anyone help me on what I need to do to reconcile with my mother?

I am his official punching bag, everytime I see him he hits me in the shoulder. What do I do? He always makes fun of me in general? I used to bully him when we were small but starting at age 13 the tables were turned and he gets me now for fun. I have understood now how horrible it is to be bullied but I think we are even now and I have told him this. He is stronger than me now by the way.

Because my mom is usually at work, I have to bathe my sister. My dad claims that he can't bathe her because he is a guy (you know).

Anyways, she doesn't listen to a word I say! It doesn't even take long to bathe her but she gets an attitude when it comes time to do it.

I don't understand how something like this can be considered a chore because my parents should have to take care of her.

I have tried to talk to my parents about her behavior, but they always think I'm trying to get out of bathing her.

My brothers keep trying to prove to our parents how bratty and spoiled she really is. They even tell them that I am not lying, but my parents just don't care.

I just got in trouble a few minutes ago because she smelled like a dog. I bathe her everyday, and I do a good job, but she runs around and gets all sweaty and stinky. My parents think that I just don't bathe her properly and that's why she stinks.

At six years of age, shouldn't she bathe herself? She'll be going to 1st grade!

Dont get me wrong, I love children. I feel that children are a blessing to families. Children will be children until they become adults when all childish things are put away. What I dont understand is why adults let children handle grown folks business. For example, adults that are hiding from bill collectors, let children screen their calls and try to handle grown ups business. If parents are letting their children handle grown folks business now, what do you think will happen when your children grow up and become a parent?

Every dog we've ever had has run away, but now my mom wants another one. My dad doesn't and they've really been at odds about this. I'm just worried that my dad won't love the dog if it comes and my mom will only get angrier at him. Ordinarily, we all love dogs, but just can't bear to have our hearts broken again. I don't think getting a dog is a good idea. Is there any way I can reason with her. My mother is very bad on following through on commitments and lacks the patience to properly train a dog or take it to obedience school. Therefore the responsibility for feeding, exercising, disciplining, and picking up after the dog will likely fall on my dad, who already is very busy with work, since my mother won't. She probably wants the dog because her children are all starting to grow up and leave her, but a dog is a 13-15 year commitment, and I don't want to see anyone hurt, including my parents or an innocent dog.

I really did not have a major problem with my soon to be mother in law until she went off on my fiance & I and started calling me a bi**h and a bad mother etc.... She had no reason to say these things in my opinion. I am not trying to get my fiance to take sides but she was. She has told him many times to leave me. In my religon when you get married you cleve unto your spouse. The before family is still important but your future family is the one that you worry about the most. I mean unless your into that you are not going to be having kids with your mother. From what my fiance has told me he has not been happy with his family life for years and now that he has found my kids and I he is finally happy with his life. Even his co-workers say that they have never seen him so happy.
I am not saying I am perfect. I just do not see how to work with a woman anymore who each time I see her she starts an arrugment because she does not approve of me being with her son. What should I do?

My friend has a question about kissing her kids on the lips. Her family has done it for generations, her son is 10 and there is a custody issue involved and his therapist is saying that she shouldn't kiss him on the lips and neither should his sister who is 13. Does anyone out there think it is ok or wrong to do this and why?

I want to be part of my 15yrs old sons life.My ex and I broke up when my son was 4yrs old. I have maintained an active role in his life since, but because I wont agree to a reconcilliation with ex,she has stiffiled the relationship that I have with my son,by telling all sorts of lies to child govering agencies, costing me immensly in time and money. My son is suffering, and has just been kicked out of one of his school classes, for disruptive behavior in class,I think, rebelling against the situation.I have consulted many legal agencies, including solicitors and court for help, who have all advised "it is up to the mother".If she is trying her best, but clearly cannot have his best interest at heart, how can I help him to help himself,as she will only permit 3hrs per week with him,no visits,or phone calls,to his home&he has no friends i pay for her lavish holidays, through the CSA,whilst he hasn't even been provided with new clothes for school in the past 3yrs,and petrifies him with threats.

I have a sister who is 16 years younger than I am.We never lived in the same place and recently have moved in the same area. Its been great getting to know her but she is constantly letting me know that I am getting older, even to the point of having 2 separate bachlorette partys. One to have fun and one to include the "older women". Even my daughter has'nt made me feel this way. Would you ingnore it or confront her? Our parents have both passed on so as far as family I am it for her.

She lives with her dad and has since she was 10 months old. SHe spends time with me every other weekend and any other time that me and my ex husband agree on, sometime in the summer and around the holidays. She tells me she wants to live with me but she knows she can't at this time. She's confused of what to say to me or her dad. She wants to be happy but her dad is filling her head with lies (Proven lies) and now I don't know what to do for her besides love her and spend happy times with her, she needs to know what is going on but I don't think it's fair for her to find out that her dad is full of himself, it will break her heart if she finds out now or in 10 years. She has no clue that her dad is lying and has been but she wants to know what is going on. Either way, what's your opinion what I should do now for her?? If I tell her the truth then it will break her heart and she'll really be confused and hurt and not know what to do, she's only 9. she doesn't deserve this.Opinions?

My brother just graduated from High school and I'm stumped as to what to get him for a gift.
He's into a wide variety of "hobbies" if you could call it that.

Riding, repairing, and building bikes ; video games ; art ; music. He plays the keyboard and has an excellent basic knowledge for computers. He's not too big on sports besides goofing around with his buddies every now and then.
Practical jokes are his specialty.

My budget is $100.

Besides just giving him the cash -- what do you think would make a good gift for him?

My wife has been complaining that the neighbours are very loud. They are a rock band you see and they play their music at one of the band member's mansions next to my house.

Frankly, I like the music and I don't mind them playing at all. How can I convince my wife that their is nothing to complain about?

Should I pretend that I have approached the neighbours?

My twin sister told me how she saw her neighbors in her apt. complex with a fire in their home. Tell me why it was over 90 degrees outside, & the younger family members hurried up & got out, & then waited a LONG time to say, "Oh. We forgot Grandma!" & then she said that they dragged their skinny grandma out of the house, onto the scalding hot concrete & left her lying on the ground, & then they waited until the ambulance came after 10 minutes to put the poor old grandma in her wheelchair. Now HOW COULD YOU FORGET YOUR GRANDMA?

I almost cried when my twin sister told me this. Either those people are cold-hearted or they're some ditzy dummies. & my twin sister thinks that they just did that so they can get more money for the fire incident so they can sue somebody. I don't think they accidentally left that woman. It sounds like they did it on purpose. I'm about to cry, thinking about that now. & my twin sister said that she doesn't think that the lady survived.

It is a little hard to set rules and have them followed in our home since there is only a 5 yer difference between my step children and I. They have stolen, cussed, complained about my faith(including the pictures on the wall of Christ), broken glass figurines that were passed down, taken adult content materials, used drugs, mishandled our 18 month old, had their mother complain about how I parent our daughter, etc. I realize, they are teens and I am the evil step mother but I do so much for them. I am the one to buy the presents for any occation (hubby doesn't know how to handle money), make home made cook meals, remind my husband of things that are going on in their lives and remind him that they need to get calls from him. I am beside myself. I am so discouraged. I just want to be their friend and be their soft place to fall since neither parent is that for them.

My parents really don't care about me at all. My Dad even said he didn't love me, he just liked me and sometimes not even that. They used to yell at me for my immaturity but now I'm very mature and trustworthy and they yell at me for stupid reasons like asking if I can go to my grandma's house for a few hours with my cousin (we didn't have anything to do that day and my cousin invited me), or trying to ask my mom how I did on the song I sang to her (for practise for a singing compition) and she tells me to go the f*ck in the other room because she doesn't have time to help with something that I'll never get anywhere with. All I want to do it go somewhere else. I really and truely don't love my family. even my preppy older brother and sister and my spoiled little brat younger brother. What should I do?
I've already tried talking to my parents.

(Yes, this is a repost. I made a mistake on the other.)
